Cool Looking to buy an "02" or earlier engine

Hi everyone, looks like a great crowd of SV fans here. Been reading you guys posts for the last week, some great info and tips. You alls bikes are an inspiration to get a racebike of my own rolling. So thanks upfront!
New to the forum, trying to find a 2002 or earlier engine for an all out project. There is a guy up in NH, ARC Fabrication, Doug Cook, having him build one of those RatBike Kits for a SV motor.
I understand the earlier engines are more durable than the 03 and up motors. Could anyone tell me the common thoughts on this?
I bought a set of 2006 GSXR forks, got that cool idea from you guy's. Nice pieces, I think Traxxion Dynamic Cartridges are going in them, if I can afford it after a frame and exhaust.
You all got me really thinking real hard, these bikes look like a freakin hoot to race on.

Thanks for any help provided.

Yes, they are a hoot to ride/race. It is great fun passing litrebikes on the outside!
First off, about the engine you are looking for, contact the guys at the SVRaceShop.com. They helped me build my race-only SV last winter, and can answer any question you have about building an SV.

The second-gen SV motors will work in the earlier chassis with no modification. The second-gen motors (I have not seen one do this) seem to be more prone to spitting out con-rods from the front cylinder. But with any race motor that will get revv'ed to the moon, you need to expect some kind of failure at any time.

I can give you alot of info on how to set up your SV. Give me a ring and I'll probably be able to answer any question you have. I can tell you more than I cany type!!
