Default brake caliper recommendation

Hi there,

I am about to finish my XR 600 project. I still need to sort out one issue. The front brake caliper. I had one off a 2000 R6 but it didnīt fit, it was too wide. Threw it awa as it was scratched heavily anyway.

So, any recommendations? Do the P34 34 radial Brembo calipers fit without grinding or anything?

When using the P30/34 Ducati caliper, you have to space out the brake disc by 8-10mm (8 is tight, 10 is better).

Ok,

I would hunt down a Motomaster caliper. Check thumpertalk or supermotojunkie classifieds.

I just recently rebuilt my Motomaster. It was $150 for the rebuild kit, but that included everything but the billet caliper itself... new pistons, new seals, o rings, bleeder, bolts, pad pin and cotter pin. It is a really nice setup. With a stock master cylinder, it has excellent feel and power.

Believe it or not, I was waving my money at those guys for a few days. But they didnīt even give me a price for the caliper only! ****ers.

All they were interested in selling were their discs and the complete tard setup incl. the brake disc, master, brake line and what not.

So I thought **** it, the Brembo stuff is tried and tested and I like it.
