Default New Husqy?

New Husqvarna motocrosser spied with BMW G450X engine - Hell For Leather

New Husky is powered by BMW motor which is actually produced by Kymco?

Isn't Kymco the cheap-ass Chinese scooter company?

Kymco is Taiwanese. Been around since '63. I have no reason to think they make a better or worse single cylinder motor than anyone else. I bet they have made a lot of singles.

I haven't heard anything bad about the BMW 450 motor. Just bad things about the bike's handling. I wonder what a Husky with that motor would be like?

I have heard that the clutch, which is mounted directly on the crankshaft, is weak. This was relayed to me by a chap who builds track kits for late-model cross and enduro bikes. He fit one of the kits to the G450 and had clutch problems, the first time he encountered this problem despite fitting his kit to many, many bikes. Back to the two-wheel world, one has to wonder how the clutch would hold up under intense moto-x action....

Juha Salminen finished 2nd in the World Enduro class 2 on a BMW last year. Those guys abuse clutches pretty good.
