I just started thinking that maybe an SM would be fun to own , and a dealer here in Canada has a new 2007 Husky SM610 for $3999CAN+Taxes , and 2008's for $5999 . Sounds like a screaming deal to me but I'm not sure of the bike's Canadian MSRP . Anyone know ? Also , are there many changes between these model years and 2010's ? Thanks .
Thanks for the reply . Apparently , the 07 is carbed whereas the 08+ are FI . Is the FI worth the extra 2G's ? I'd like to spend as little as possible but a more up-to-date bike is indeed tempting . Either way , great deal so I'll be picking one up .
The 610SM is an awesome bike. I would own one if I could, just can't afford one right now. The injection is one of the better units I have ridden, but the carbed models are supposed to run very well. Either way enjoy!!!
Stealer just emailed that the $3999 bike is used , not new like it says in their ad . The $5999 for 08 and 09 seems to be legit though but getting clear info from them is like pulling teeth , and they're not listed as an official Husky dealer even though their website lists all the new models . I don't know .
I would ask them if they have the ability to get parts for them easily. If they do and you can afford i would pull the trigger they are awesome heavy weight SM's and alot of guys on SMJ love theirs.
But you may want to be aware that Husky does not sell engine parts through anyone but dealers. They are quite expensive. I have a friend with an 06 510smr. New rod and piston is over $800. Just in parts.
That's not a new crank. That's just the rod, pin, piston rings and big end bearing.
But it's an amazing bike.
^ Are you calling me a momo , you mook ?! LOL . No , I'm in ON , but the "dealer" is International Motorsports in BC . Have you dealt with them ?
LOL. I have not dealt with them but my racing buddy knows Rick and Zack and highly recommends IMS. They often get their bikes from the US and price them very reasonably for the Canadian market.
5th Gear used to be a Husky dealer but since BMW took over Husky, they apparently won't sell to him anymore. You may try to call Bill there to see if he has any leftover 610.
