I had heard rumors that they were going to run supermoto, it's good to see that it will happen. Do you know any more info? Are they running a race series, trackdays, or both?
After Dan told me about the track, I fired off an email asking if they did open practice and allowed supermotos but I haven't heard back from them yet. On the other hand, I've added a lot rules to my email program. A lot of rules....
Dirt section? That means jumps and woops. Owch. Got word yesterday that my back guy thinks my L3 should get fused (my L4 and L5 are already fused) but wants me to grin and bear the pain until the technique for disk replacement is worked out to avoid another draconian fusion. Anyway, jumps scare this aging moto-squid these days.
I'd run it, just really slow. Anyway, I put a call into Tim at DSC to learn more about the series.
Dan, your XR isn't that loud is it? Or am I just thinking that it isn't loud 'cause I run ear plugs?
But what is it at 50 ft., Dan? Basically what is going on is your bike cannot be louder than a 125 shifter cart to satisfy the city council.
Anyway, I just got off the phone with Tim from DSC. Bikes need to have catch cans for drips on the radiators and cards and all oil covers and drain plugs need to be safety wired. No big deal. Aparently, they're going to have track monkeys selling tires and doing safety wiring if you need it.
Gear wise they were pretty open because some guys are still choosing to run motocross gear.
It's not set in stone yet but the first date is look like May 14 or 15th, the second date June 10th or 11th.
I'm out at DCTC on May fifteenth but I may be able to make the June date baring any unforeseen issues.
I'm sorry to here that. You could buy the local Husky shop's demo SM450R for a song if spring comes and your bike still looks like an exploded parts diagram.

It has Swedish heritage, does that make it better?
