Chicagoland Spring 07 Trackday

Hey all,

After a great first ride of the year last weekend at Springfield, IL (well at least for most, but Walnut will bounce back ), I thought I would let you all know about another opportunity a couple hours further north. I am working to establish some track days at Concept Haulers Motor Speedway in Norway, IL. So far we have 2 dates set: April 15th and July 22nd.

It has also just been announced that Rd 5 of the Superbikers2 Challenge series will be held at this track on September 9th

Here are the basics:

Date: Sunday, April 15th
Sunday, July 22nd

When: 12-6pm (maybe longer)

Where: Concept Haulers Motor Speedway @ Norway, IL

How Much: $35/rider

Who's invited: Supermoto, mini motards, mini roadrace

Dirt section: No

Go karts: Yes (we will be sharing track time with go-karts, but we will not be on the track at the same time)

At our track day last fall we had 23 riders, perfect weather, and a great time had by all. The track surface has unbelieveable amounts of grip. The back straight is long enough to get well into 5th gear on my Husaberg 650, while the rest of the track is tight enough to not be boring for smaller bikes.

The trackday is still a go for the 15th. I have been getting some pretty good response, so we could have a good turnout.

Now we just need to hope for the weather to be on our side. But, since there is no dirt section at this point, we will run rain or shine.

Attached is a somewhat crude trackmap that I pirated from another forum. Lap times are ~54-56 seconds for the top guys.

Just a quick update:

The track is just at the bottom of the snow line from this latest midwest spring storm, so they only got a dusting and it's already gone.

Forecast for Sunday: 55 and Mostly Sunny

Cost Update: $25 (reduced from original $35)

The track looks awesome Colin. Probably won't do track days, but I'm going to try and make the race on Sept 9th for sure.
