So, Sete, Rossi, and Nicky have been the consistant 3 at the top, does this mean the Kid is finally up to speed? or this is just testing and it will be the same story when the flag drops?

Hey doc, you do know that's results from Catalunya. Hopkins owns the Jerez test so far.

In the wet, my friend. In the wet. Underpowered bikes tend to do well on cold, damp tracks. Still, I'd love to see him do well this year. Shinya's a class act.

And only one of them was in the top three on the last day... hmmmm. Good job, Kid!

I still don't understand why so many people think he's been a disappointment. I guess some people are disappointed (or thrilled) that he still hasn't won a MotoGP race. But he's young!. And more importantly, he's shown consistent improvement since he entered MotoGP, with the exception of the times he's been injured. If he continues to improve (and it looks like he is), he should be able to win some races this year. And if that happens he could be a legitimate title contender for '06.

Of course I also thought EBoz would keep up with his teamate this year, so even I don't take myself seriously anymore.

Congratulations to Nicky.

But- If you're on the Repsol bike you need to be getting podiums consistently and winning races every year. Nicky's first year he got a pass. New bike, new tracks. Last year he was a disappointment. This year he needs to be at least the 3rd fastest Honda every week or he will be wearing new leathers next year. Just like Colin, he is running out of time and excuses. I'm not saying that guys who are the 6th or 7th or 8th best Moto GP riders in the world don't deserve TONS of respect... they do. I'm just saying that riders with 2nd tier results SOON end up with 2nd tier equipment, no matter how young they are.

It's all a matter of contracts and timing. It may make more sense for Gibbernau to be filling that seat (Lord know's he's earned it), but he's under contract with Telfonica. Repsol Gibbernau/Biaggi in '06? Wouldn't that be a wicked Duo to try to dethrone the doctor. Still, giving up on Hayden would be a major mistake. He'll take the next step this year. He'll have at least as many podiums as Rossi has wins in '05. Earlier in the year I picked Biaggi to finish ahead of Hayden, but now I'm not so sure.

Sete will never leave Telefonica. Just like Colin will never leave Michelin

Is this the year? Wouldn't it be amazing if Colin still sucks after moving to a Premier team..

Too bad MotoGP.com aren't showing the analysis sheets for Jerez. I don't put much faith in hot laps. I like to see how consistant the riders are. That's what wins races.

Yup, I know what you mean. They want you to shell out $35 (Euros) for coverage, and then you have to go to a FREE site to find any decent information!

Anyway- Toby Hirst did a good analysis of the times on Superbikeplanet..

hmmmmm, if that truly is the case, honda should be very worried of losing the constructors cup as well! how great would it be for both ex-works honda riders to throw it back in the face of their former employer. i hope edwards can finally live up to his potential this year.

Edwards, geesh he will be mired in 6th or worse. He should paint his bike bright pink. Then at least you can pick him out on TV in the long shots

Go Nicky

here si the analysis of the lap brake down. basically all the fastests laps in order and who did them, the ijmportant thing here is not who was fastests, but who had the most laps in that list.....Rossi, Sete and Nicky. However, only Rossi and Colin did all of their 1:41 laps on race tires only while the rest of the field got most (if not all in some cases) of their 1:41 laps on Qs.
