You guys talk like Rossi did this out of a sense of history. He did it because of EGO. He did it to prove to Honda that it was the Rider that made their bike - and not the other way around.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Where did you get that out of my post. I don't think you compete at that level without an EGO. Rossi needed a challenge and some respect so he left. I think the part of the orginal post was that Matt appears to have decided that he would rather not be challanged (a different kind of EGO).

Why the hell don't they get Doug Polen to take Spencers spot on the telecast?

"...because winning the same national title 5 times means nothing"

I can remember when his excuse was "nobody will give me a good bike" or was that the time he said "I want to wait till WSB and GPs get their rules sorted"
I'm paraphrasing of course, but in addition to the king of sandbagging, he is the king of exuses as well....just listen to any interview he did after one of the few races he didnt win. "my clutch sucks, waaah" "the 800cc bike has a weight advatage, waaah" (this one after he got beat in one race by the kawi) "the liter twins have an unfair advantage, even tho my bike makes more hp and I beat them all the time anyway, waah"

and you wonder why I dont like the guy....

I tend to agree with you about Mladin. He was really pretty good as a commentator. Freddie? I really like him but he was a little weak.

Dezmo, You talk about the
" the mladin ass-kissers on this forum " But the Anti Mladin Squad is just as bad. hell I am a card carrying member of the Anti Kletus Squad so I can see your point. Mladin wins and because of it he gets contracts. If he quits winning he will be gone. For Now I like to watch him ride. I got to talk to him at PPIR a couple years ago after the race was over and he was no longer in "Race mode" and he was relaxed and friendly. Nice Guy actually and gettin beat by Nicky gave him a little mellowing.
