Default HELP!! They're trying to kill me

I know this has come up before, but I didn't need it until now. I need some decent insurance for a decent price. I just came back from Germany where I was paying $57.00 a month for insurance for my 2003 R1. Now that i've come back stateside they're telling me they'll have to re-write my policy and my new premium is going to be $1300.00 for 6 months for the used 2004 ZX-10 that I just got yesterday.
I asked the girl that was helping me if they were smoking something and told them where to get off. Can someone point me in the right direction? That's just CRAZY!!!

clean driving record?

under 25 years old?

Open class sportbikes are getting tougher to insure everyday, however if you are over 25 with no tickets you should be able to get full coverage for half of what you posted

With a handle like "Highsider" I can't imagine why your insurance would be so high.

Assuming you have comp and collision, if the bike is paid for, you can get much cheaper ins if you get rid of comp collision, but you pay for it if you drop it or if it gets stolen. Then, if you get 500k to 1mil liability AND uninsured motorist, you will be covered in any accident that is not your fault and that insurance should be fairly cheap.

Thanks Duc!

I'm at Ft. Bragg N.C. Been here about 2 months now.

Wasn't it you who told me that you lived in the area. The weather has been pretty mild the past week or so. Maybe if I can find some INS fast. I'll put her on the road this week...or I could put my European forces tag on and "ride dirty" for awhile, but i don't think that would be such a good idea. Never know when disaster might strike through no fault of your own.

Forget the European rates here... the cheapest you can go might with proggressive and for full coverage i dont think will be under $1000 or even $2000...

Insane i know but this is the rpice you pay when you have squids ride liter bikes and crash them daily!

Do you have access to USAA? They had the best rates for me and I got in because my dad is ex-military.

+1 on USAA, or try State Farm...they're pretty common here and have good rates as well. Welcome back, let me know when you head over to Michaels.

I just got a quote from State Farm on a 05 GSXR-1000 - $259.00 every 6 months. Full coverage. I have all my other insurance with them though, which helps. House, multi-car, clean record, etc. I'm 40 as well.

I am with Alstate. I pay under $450 a year for full coverage for a 2000 CBR929 and the same for a 2001 F4i.

I have my house, truck and trailer insurance with them also. They always try to jack it up to $2500+ every year at renewal time, but after a call to my agent, it goes back down to the old level.

USAA is the way to go. I pay $175 every six months for my Z1000...full coverage no deductible. I had State Farm on one of my bikes, 00' Kawi ZR7, and they charged me $306 every six months.

I am 29 with a clean driving record and have had USAA for 6 years now. USAA told me three months ago that I would have to pay $150/month to insure my wr450 for the street (full coverage). I asked them why so much? The agent told me that USAA is trying to get out of the Motorcycle insurance business because of too much risk and that it was interfering with their goal of providing the cheapest auto insurance in the country by 2006. Current policy holders are not supposed to be affected, but new policies will feel it. I ended up going with progressive, they had the cheapest rate by far.

Yeah - I was close to your side of the state, but since then I have moved closer to GOD's Kuntry. It seems to be called that not because it is all that impressive, rather the number of Jesus freaks is enough to convert you based on intimidation.

I recommend hooking up w/ Motor05- he is good peeps

State farm gets pretty cheap if you insure your bike, car, house and life with them. I'm 19 have (2) criminal speedings and was paying 130 a mont for my 04' rc full coverage 500 ded. i paid 98 a month for the same coverage on my 03 f4i.

Maybe I need to move out that way too. LOL!! I hate to tell you this, but.... i'm one of those "Jesus freaks" too. If you don't hold it against me I won't hold your sarcasm against you. I still love ya' man!!
You don't have to worry about me preaching to you but, I hope and pray that you too become a "Jesus freak" before it's too late. Just my
Hooking up with Motor05 sounds like a plan whenever the opportunity arises.

What and where is Michaels?? Is it in Raleigh? Although I work at Ft. Bragg. I actually live in Angier. Halfway between Fayetteville and Raleigh.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. I went with USAA. $400.00 for 6 months. Thanks people!!

I just finished re-doing all of my insurance after I moved and Geico had the cheapest bike rates by far. I was suprised because last time I talked to them they wouldn't even insure me, but this time they wrote it and they killed the Progressive and State Farm rates that I was already happy with. I had finally qualified for the best State Farm rates (I've dreamed about this for years), and it's all for nothing.
