Default American Racers

If you get all the big American races who won or competed in World Level and finished up high with same machines,Skills they had on the pick of their carrier and put them on the same track who do you think will win?

my pick?

1)Eddie Lawson
2)Kenny Robers
3)Wayne Rainey

you can pick which ever you want even Kurtins (now that he is World Level rider )

Are we talking about a single race or a series?

Single race...Kevin Scwantz wins hands down

I think this quote from AMASoup says it all.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">While most short bios concentrate on his amazing record of winning as a rider, Roberts has changed nearly all of the facets of motorcycle roadracing at one point of another, from riding style to chassis design, from mental preparation to physical training. When he last lapped a Grand Prix track—testing tires for his team at the Italian GP of Monza in the mid-1980s—Honda GP rider Wayne Gardner commented that "it looked like a Kenny Roberts riding school out there" as most of the grid slotted in behind the old master to see what they could learn from him.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Why a racer with less wins and champions can with this race? I know Kevin is a talented raced but before he win his first championship back in 1993 broke all his bones twice On the other side Eddie Lawson Rode the 1989 NSR like no one else did before or after.... The 1989 was one of the worst handling bikes in the last 25years.

Im not arguee i just eant to know why Kevin would win a race like this....

Bla Bla Bla , as Kevin schwantz is super fast, history would dictae that he would crash out. Are we talking a specific track? Daytona would be Scott russell, laguna would be Rainey , Sazuka would be a toss up for polen or edwards. Way too many variables and different types of talent to nail it down.
Its the same as the Mohamed Ali Vs Tyson question.

Fast Freddie Spencer. The only racer to win the 250cc and 500cc championship IN THE SAME YEAR while setting 9 new track records.

This would be pushing the front... (no he didn't crash)

We're talking American. Fast Freddie. Dryheat is a little biased cause Freddie made him faster.

How's the snow up your way Tim?

Cheers,
D

http://www.motorsports-network...e.htm

"The young man who had taken the championship from King Kenny Roberts in 1983 was soon to become the first person in history to win both the 250cc and 500cc World Championships in the same season. In the 250cc classification, Spencer competed in ten events, qualified on the pole six times, and won seven races. In the eleven 500cc races, Spencer qualified first nine times and won seven.

The double championship stands alone in the history of modern Grand Prix racing. No competitor today would even attempt such a feat, yet Spencer accomplished it while setting nine new track records. Even more incredibly, in the same year, he won all three major divisions (250cc, 500cc and Superbike) at the AMA National at Daytona International Speedway. He is the first and only competitor ever to do so."

Agostini won double titles in the 350cc and 500cc classes from 1968 to 1972.
