Default Christmas present from my wife.

She had a poster printed out by SliderPhoto in a poster type print.

I was a few weeks shy of my 50th B-Day. Did the track day with my 22 year old son as a B-Day present.

Hey, it is supposed to be in the upper 50's here on New Year's Day. Time to get a few bikes out.

A GeeYes with usd forks and clip-ons
At first I thought no way, but the frame/motor really looks like one. Is that a gixxer 750 front end?

My sitser got me a track pic framed. Cool idea I thought, but the poster kicks ass.

And we have a winner

Yes, a '96 GSXR 750 front end, '89 GSXR rear wheel and shock, all resprung and revalved by Race Tech.

Motor is a 555 kit with 11.5 pistons and megacycle cams, total loss ignition, still a slow bike, with a mere 60 rwhp, but I get to embarrass a lot of guys on the brakes and in the corners.

Big plus is it is easy on tires. Running a Metzler Rennsport super soft front and a soft rear, and getting 10 to 15 hours a set (Depending on how abrasive the track is.)

Sounds good man. 60 horse is decent, don't they make 40 something stock? My 650 is only good for around 75, so it's not far off. I bet it hauls pretty good.

I thought only sv guys were going after all the gixxer go fast parts. I'll be looking for an '04 750 front end on ebay come spring, so keep your hands off

I put a 93 gsxr front end on my 90 honda hawk gt.

Does this make my bike a Hozuki or a Suonda
Cant wait to get it to the track
Sweet pic D-Day

It would be a Suzonda. Cause the first piece across the finish line is A Zuk Piece!

Why, when a RC51 front end bolts right up? Then the naming issue would not be a problem.

The lack of an RC51 front end IS the problem. The GSXR front end bolts right up too, the only thing that has to be modded is changing the races and adding a washer above the upper tripple clamp under the nut.

Sorry about hi-jacking the thread

Yeah, they make about 38 stock, 43 with a full exhaust and rejet with K&Ns. After that it gets fun.

Does go pretty good, but man does it stop with those six pot Tokiko brakes.

D-Day, How close are you to Putnam park, Blackhawk, and Autobahn? We may have to do a trackday this next year, might be kind of fun to play around with a couple of small, underpowered bikes with BIG brakes. I think I'm going to go to the Cycle Options day at Putnam in Early April so I can get warmed up for Barber.

I live in Berwyn IL (just west of Chicago) so basically close to all 3 tracks. I was considering Putnam, but first weekend in April is very iffy in terms of temperature and percipitation. I did the last one there by Cycle Options in September (or was it October?)Love Putnam:

Probably doing a day at Blackhawk on May 25th with Private Track Time, at least one day at Putnam, a couple of days at Gingerman, a day or two at Grattan and I am going to check out the new track by Joliet (Autobahn) Which dates I do, are still to be decided. Would love to get to Barber, but might have to wait until next year, as I am getting ready to move to Arkansas in '05.

Is winter over yet?

Paul

Where you movin to in AR? I've got quite a few MC connections down there. Great rodes. I usually take 3-4 trips down there/year.
The one at Putnam in April I'll probably decide two weeks in advance If i'm gonna drop the $$ on it.

Headed to AR in '05. The elecricity will be put in by April, and then all I have to do is sell my house here.

You are completely right about the roads. My property is on Hwy 14 about 2 miles south of the Buffalo National River. Have your ever been down 14? It kicks butt. From the river to my property, there are 14 turns, all under 70 while dragging knee and with only 7,000 people in the county, not much traffic, and no crossroads or driveways. Can you say private race track?

NO SHEIT!!!! We usually camp at Buffalo point!!! We usually do 341, 14, 123, 74, 374, and 263 about 3-4 times/year!!! I definately have to hook you up with my friends that live down there. They are old time Euros, live, breath, eat, sleep motorcycles and if you ride you're part of the family...great people! They live about 30 minutes from 14 by Allison.

I wish I had a pic of my old GS to post. It was also a 555 kitted bike with Megacyle cams and 39mm Kehin FCR carbs. I loved racing that thing. Then the club I was in allowed the Monster 620 in the class and well you can guess the rest.
