Renault Sport F1: Explaining Torque maps | ScarbsF1.com
F1 teams actually reduce engine torque and output in some situations (cold weather/low altitudes/high air pressure, etc) to make engine response more CONSISTENT for the driver, when driving in high temps/high altitude/low air pressure races, to ensure the driver does not have to "relearn" the engine's response in different track conditions. Amazing stuff.
