Don't know how's in the US right now but here both bikes took a nosedive in value. An RC30 with 7500km was sold a month ago not far from here for 18000€. The owner had used it for two or three years (sparingly) then retired it and put it in the living room as a piece of furniture. Had it serviced once a year as per Honda's instructions so it was a minter.
Bikes in similar conditions used to go for 25000€.
RC45's are holding a tad better but still considerably cheaper than two years ago.
Here in the US RC30 will fetch any where from 20K to 32K whereas one of
the original 56 North American RC45 will fetch any where from 27K to 35K...
An RC30 going for 18000€ = 23,800 USD not bad for your 12K MSRP...
An RC45 going for 25000€ = 33,056 USD not bad for your 27.5K MSRP...
Honda's exotic RC30 and RC45 are only for the very rich it seems or the
very clever who got their hands on one the first time around... as I track the
prices World Wide they continue to rise... which is great if you own one...
not so good if you're after one...
You could've bought Apple stock 4 mos ago and made 50%. Why would a "clever" person wait 18 years to make a few %?
Hell, you could've bought $27.5k worth of Apple stock instead of an overpriced bike and you'd now be a multi-millionaire able to buy most of the RC-45's still in existence.

If you know so much about Apple stock why didn't you buy and become a multi-
millionaire??? see if you had been clever instead of short and pissed off you
could finally afford to join the RC45 club... all thought I doubt you'd fit...

I agree. To me bikes are made to be ridden. Otherwise it's like having a platonic relationship with a supermodel, nice but completely missing the point.

Another year or two and we'll be able to buy yours at your estate sale and return it to the poor Mexican you stole it from.
You're not only short you have a short memory... BLS is going to out live all you pudknockers... besides once your bike is
featured in a magazine the number of buyers increase...

Agreed... bikes must be ridden... thats why Mr.RC45 has over 52K and those
are miles not in moderation either...

Maybe the clever person will ride the bike for 18 years and enjoy it and have a little extra satisfaction when they eventually sell for more than they bought. You can almost always make more investing than spending on disposables like a bike. It always feels good to sell anything for more than you paid, right?

Ummm, sure? I'm quite positive all the people that sold their Apple stock in '95 @ $10 are happy they made a profit and didn't hold it til it reached $600+.

In 2012 dollars, an RC30 MSRP would be $21,100.08, and an RC45 would be $42,644.48. The RC30 would have been the better investment.
Rising prices are only great if you plan on selling one day, which you obviously don't. Otherwise, they are meaningless. I don't constantly check the blue book or selling prices of either of my bikes because I don't plan on ever selling them.

Blue Book values maybe "meaningless" to you but not to me because I receive
many personal inquires about RC45 values from interested buyers... its a free
service I provide... why just name your bikes and I'll be happy to look up your
Blue Book values too...

Hmmm, Lets see. 50% increase of an $27,500 investment is $13,750. $13,750+$27,50=$41,250
Unless you meant double your money in four months (which would be a 100% increase) to $$55,000
I suck at math but Im not seeing the Multi-Millions of dollars........
You two are internet geniuses when it comes to keyboard fisticuffs.
I believe it sold for $26,100 but I'll know for sure when my friend Jeff goes to
Rod's place to make a deal on his RC45 in 2 weeks... Jeff is the Footman for a
NFL football team and travels with the team...
