Agreed...which is why his comments on the topic are insightful, IMO. He's been consistent with this attitude...even while demolishing his opponents while using this developing technology. Does that make his opinion any less convincing or worthy?

Nice optic but lets be realistic. The Yamaha wasn't "crap" - yes it was behind the Honda but it wasn't the worst bike on the grid, it was secodn best.

Actually, the Yamaha was a middle-packer. The best Yamaha came 7th in the 2003 championship, behind 4 Hondas and 2 Ducatis, with 234 points LESS than the winning Honda (Vale). In all 16 races only 1 Yamaha got a podium...a single 3rd place the entire year.
