I think Spies was more dominant at every level so far than all those guys. Now Spies will come up to GPs w/ inferior equipment and everyone will just say Spies wasn't racing the best and that's why he won.

I think Spies was racing some of the best. I think the ? I ask is, were the battles better? Domination is not as much fun to watch as a good battle. IE it was def more exciting to watch him this year in WSBK than in any ama Mladin Spies show just my opinion. I think I'm wondering what the opinion on the greatest match of talent has been not ness the greatest talent.

I'm not a fan of the kid as yet (b/c of his mommy issues ) but he has shown to be a fast learner , so I think he'll do extremely well in MotoGP . People are going to be shocked .
Road Racer mag voted Imola 2002 the best race of the decade. I know this past WSBK ch was a good one, edge of the seat wise but prob not as good as? 02?
"Exercise restraint and discipline, only responding to posts from legit customers and those with constructive positive intent, you will find that the handgrenades explode harmlessly. You have many satisfied customers who are happy to have the parts you've made. My suggestion to you is keep making good parts, keep getting more customers, take care of them and let them speak for you."
Giacomo Agostini vs. Valentino Rossi for starters.
Not theoretical matchup's but the best season of racing down to the wire championship you can remember. I wish I would have been around for Schwantz vs Rainey. Nicky's win over Rossi was a good upset but could have been better. Colins win at imola over Bayliss stands out to me. Spies's win over Haga was a bit up in the air for a while.
as much as we all have a bias towards a particular "rivalry" it's hard to beat 02 wsbk. that season was a nail biter the whole time.
o6 mgp was special to me because I've always been a huge Hayden fan. that one is rosy colored for me so I have to wipe it off of the slate.
this year WSBK was ultra exciting just for the fact that a rookie came in a decimated the field. smashing records along the way. probably the best season since 02. the racing was fantastic and it was a true Cinderella story. the only thing that would have made it better would be if Spies was riding a Honda Twin. what he accomplished on a brand new bike on tracks he'd never seen racing against people he'd never raced against just makes it legendary. the bonus was the Yamaha videos. funny as hell.
Rainey and Schwantz I mean what can you say. that was a rivalry that went on for more than just a race or a season. they didn't give up until one of them was in a wheel chair for christ sakes.
all of that being said Edwards and Bayliss 02 will go down in my book as the greatest single season of two rivals battling each other. I can't remember anybody that year just resorting to just gathering points. it seemed to be a win it or bin it season. and that was awesome along with Big Red beating Ducati at it's own game. so for me it takes the cake.
No matter what there is no formula as exciting as the 990 MGP. Stupid fast, lots of sliding, beating and banging just great racing in general.
