Rossi held his annual fundraiser for kids w/ leukemia last weekend. I can't believe Simoncelli still rides MX after his wad cost him the Championship this year.

Seemed to be an Italian-centric invite list:
10,000 thousand fans turned up on Sunday to watch the MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi rip around the Cavallara track in Italy.
Lots of other world class riders were also there including Marco Simoncelli, Mattia Pasini, Marco Melandri, Loris Capirossi, Kevin Schwantz, Raffaele De Rosa, Alex De Angelis, Michel Fabrizio, Roberto Locatelli, Emilio Ostorero, Graziano Rossi and Marco Luchinelli.

You mean they included that other famous Italian champion, Kevin Schwantzerelli ?
It's a very cool event - great photos. Glad you posted it...
I just have a nit to pick - I can't agree that Rossi is "risking his career". Risking his neck, yes. But his "career" is set in stone. Even if he never turned a wheel in competition again, his career would be beyond critique.
Really, it's not like if he kept going he might one day be great. He's been the GOAT for a fair few years now.
These guys all make their living from racing motorcycles, it makes sense they might play on a different kind in the off-season. Sort of like a top french chef whipping up some tacos on the weekend.
I don't know about you guys, but after 200 mph on a MotoGP bike, MX doesn't seem much more dangerous.
