^ But considering Rossi's dismay at Yamaha's signing of a first tier rider in Horhay , how anxious is he going to be to move to Ducati if another dominant rider (i.e. Soner) is still there ?!

a) Why doesn't livio like Rossi? does he have mental problems?
b) Rossi would love to challenge Stoner on equal machinery a la Biaggi
c) I don't think Rossi could pass up the chance to make that sort of history, I think if he really thinks about it, he had no choice but to ride for ducati for at least a season, just to say he did it

its definitively an interesting choice of decisions by Ducati. I wonder how much of it is actually aimed at "talking" to Rossi or simple coincidence in the timing of things.

a) Suppo took the position that with Ducati (not unlike HRC) it's about Ducati, not the riders, and with Rossi, he's the center of attention.
b) While Stoner has significantly redeemed himself, he has left the impression, however temporary, that he might not be relied on in a crunch. At the end of 2010, Stoner and Rossi'd current contracts are up, and it will be interesting to see which direction both Yamaha and Ducati take come contract time.
c) If Rossi and Burgess jump, it will be for more than a single season.

With the lack of results from all other Deci riders, I'd suggest that Ducati will do just about ANYTHING to keep Stoner

^ I agree, Stoner IS Ducati

then again if Stoner's feathers were ruffled, he doesn't seem the type that would move to a different manufacturer

Rossi is buddies with Vito's brother Gianfranco who is also a racer. Gianfranco was at Rossi's house when he had his bizarre pre-season accident. Details here

So many 'men' around Rossi all the time . Mmm , I know he's Italian , but it's fishy -- or non-fishy as the case may be !
