I looked at this bike very close and sat on it at the WSBK race Germany (Nurburgring) round and it is nice! That green color is nasty though .
It is very small/compact/lite and feels like a 600. The front 8hr endurance head light was a little different but overall BMW built a awsome bike just as expected from them.
"Exercise restraint and discipline, only responding to posts from legit customers and those with constructive positive intent, you will find that the handgrenades explode harmlessly. You have many satisfied customers who are happy to have the parts you've made. My suggestion to you is keep making good parts, keep getting more customers, take care of them and let them speak for you."
Definitely sick bike and cant go wrong with it IMHO........what's the final numbers on it....HP, torq, weight and price?
When I went down to the CCS-VIR round Nate Kern was talking the bike up big time, I know that'd be part of his job but Ive known the guy personally for awhile now and he really does seem excited about it and bummed that they wont let him race it......hoping that changes.
It's a completely new BMW so better not buying for at least two years until they had time to sort out all big the gremlins from it.
This was he advice I was given a years ago by an old greybeard BMW owner...

2. I think BMW just might be willing to step up if there are issues.
Just my opinion, mind you....
I have a BMW so I can tell...
Also having a warranty is not enough if the local dealer doesn't give a damn about customers: been there, seen that.
There have been issues with mid-production (mostly 2005-2007) Hexhead final drives and so far BMW reaction has not been the best in the book.
What is with the fishnet stockings texture on the black plastic? Some deisgned advantage or just styling? Does the texture break up the flat surface making it easier to hide molding imperfections from their chinese subcontractors?
Considering the 2010 Japanese bikes have an MSRP north of $13k, this bike at only a few hundred bucks more might steal sales. It's like being able to buy an M3 for the same price as a 370Z.
I'm affraid I may have the same feeling in the not too distant future. But I have to see some ride reviews first. For me to replace the RC51 the Beemer will have to be nearly perfect. No drive lash, no throttle glitches, etc.
FYI, my wife and I picked up a 325i at the plant in Munich. Drove down to Italy, France, Amsterdam (coffee, anyone?). Got it home and it turned out to be a little bit lemon - electrics mainly. Beemers are far from perfect. In fact I'd take a Lexus over a Beemer (except maybe a M series).
