They should start by redesigning the motor.

I have a good friend who's head of maintenance at a Kawasaki-MV Agusta-Moto Guzzi-Aprilia dealership.
He said to me that sales of MVs have literally ground to an halt when people realized they were just hiking displacement a bit or adding a couple new tricky bits to build the "new model". Since these are top of the line bikes people have come to expect a little more bang for their buck. Also the styling is not as fresh as when it was launched. To make things worse there are scores of Brutales and F4s waiting for a buyer on the second hand market.
In short moving them from the shop floor has become very hard.
Was it all a fashion thing? Probably and when fashion changes you either adapt very quickly or die out.
But justice where it's due: ever since H-D moved in and Castiglioni was kicked out the spare service has improved to no end, the suppliers and contractors have been paid and the employees are finally being paid on time each month.

HD do many things well (and are geniuses at marketing). They just suck at building bikes for anything other than posing...

While the original bike was beautiful, it was also the most uncomfortable sportbike I've ever sat one.

+1 on that.... from being my dream bike, it went to WTF is this!!! There is just no room for a 6'3" guy and the seat is terrible. Major disappointment!

They can't be GENIUSES at marketing any longer if they're building bikes solely for posing b/c their demographic is dying . H-D seems to understand this b/c they are trying to attract a younger buyer , but in the end they still resort to the old mantra sloganology of "tradition" and "freedom" for the hillbillies , hoping that slumping sales are due only to the bad economy and not boring products .

i love how any thread that contain the letters H-D in it automatically turns in to H-D bike AND rider hate fest

did a H-D rider kick your puppy when you guys were in K-garden or something?
There are plenty guys here that ride them and enjoy them.

you dont like em, dont buy them, shut the F up about it already.

And to talk about H-D bikes and riders like that on an MV Agusta thread is just precious! the biggest poser bike ever built, ridden by some of the biggest posers ever to swing a leg over a bike..... most of the time a total waste of a very nice bike in the hands of the majority of MV owners.

I can (obviously) only speak for myself, but EVERY Harley I've EVER ridden has been a POS (especially considering the price!) and that includes the only one I'd ever own, an XR750. They are a tool for poseurs and nothing else, so people who ride 'em are justifiably categorized.

Amazing i have top argue BIKES with BIKE GUYS. Everyone is so brand/style/group loyalist that they walk themselves in to their little corner at lash out at everything else.

As long as it doesn't look like a 999, I don't care what it looks like
Poor ducati must of been in quite a bit of a panic that Tamburini didn't style their next bike after the 916 shape, 999 OMG what a minger!
