But also slow for the money, fat like a cow and hideously expensive.
Just as well we don't use logic to buy and love our bikes, eh!

The 500 was dubbed "Never Ready" by the press... the NR750 was ready

NR750s are not all that fat in person as the photo suggest...

Sorry, Larry, it looks sports-tourer fat to me...about the size of the ZX7RR but nowhere near as pretty to my eyes

I must say, i love the look of the 999R in race trim..
but it dont fit me, is down on power unless comparing it to a 600cc bike.
But come on now we all know honda made some cool bikes, but hell they were all weak in STOCK TRIM!
Without big money they are just history and who cares who invented or used the SSSA, Ducati has proven they have won more of everything with it than any other manufactureor...so maybe that speaks more than well i invented.

PS: damn that NR750 is a fat bitch if i ever seen one.

Go to the Doug Polen test where they compared the 999 to 1098 and be impressed with the 999. For the money it's awesome. Also it shows more of the guts/engine which imo is a better look/feel of a bike.

I have a 2004 749R
I bought it coz it doesnt have that much power so i can hear the beautiful engine without having to ride too fast
the thing revs so quickly its unreal, and the handling is incredible(falls into corners-even with my dimishing riding abilities)
build quality is amazing(engine casing are actually painted and all bolts etc are high quality.
granted the stock 749s and early 999s are pretty bland, but thats just progression...

Nothing wrong with the 999R 749R bikes.....
except the stupid side stand and it does look a little skinny from the front(dam locomotive influences!)

WHAT IS NOT BEAUTIFUL ABOUT THIS BIKE....AND ITS ORIGINAL.
ANYBODY CAN COPY THE 916 AND MAKE A BEAUTIFUL BIKE,BUT IT TAKES A REAL DESIGNER TO CREATE SOMETHING ORIGINAL THAT WORKS
AND THE WSBK MACHINES ARE THE MEANEST BIKES EVER MADE FOR THAT SERIES

nice bike Simon.....

I've sold my SS 1000ds, given the BMW 650 to my sister and am currently looking for a 03-04 ..maybe an 05 ($$$$$ rules). Had a couple of bids on some on e-bay and one i am very seriously considering (but no red key) in Fla.

I've read all the reviews and have lusted after this bike since it came out, and i totally agree with the comment that any one could copy/update the 916 but the 999 has stand alone beauty.

And forget about the power and grunt issues... any version has more than i could safely use.

Simon who's rearsets are those?

A lot of Duc fans agree the 749R is the bike that completely flew under the radar. I never road one but I've heard it simply rails in the canyons but you need to be rev happy with it. I wanted to buy one in a BAD way with a 848 upgrade but the stealership who had one in the crate simply wouldn't deal with me. They wanted FULL RETAIL when everyone knew the 1098 was coming. I found another stealership with a 999S still in the create and offered it to me for 18k out the door with .9% for 72 months. What would you take?

I just tossed the article with Polen comparing the 999 Vs 1098. Said the 999 felt like and old friend and turned very respectable lap times right of the truck Vs the 1098 which needed a lot of work, tweaking, pushing, shoving. Don't get me wrong, not everyone loves the style but I do.

Warranty is up next summer.. maybe it's time for a big bore kit.

Yes but when the 999 came out Hodgson et al complained that it didn't handle as well as the 998. Chili pissed off the factory by racing the 998 1/2 for awhile.

The road going NR750 is ugly and fat. The NR750 endurance racer, beautiful and jewel like. What happened Honda?

Is that the Ducati rear seat? Sorry Moto Corse doesn't ring a bell with me. I have some SSR's on my bike now, nice but I would like to find something like the factory without the factory price with GP Shift and a brake lever that doesn't slam the fairing.

Also I think Franky Chilli actually took the 999 motor and put it into a 998 frame. He hated the 999.

moto corse are famous for MV agusta and charging hideous prices(like 1500us-actually closer to 1700 with the exchange rate for rearsets etc)

MOTO CORSE PRODUCTS

MOTO CORSE - bimota¡¢MV AGUSTA¡¢DUCATI ¾

The president started business selling snap on parts in a van(i have meet him at the lab in shizuoka near the US navy bases)
but hes very very clever and has built a great empire here in japan(his showroom is in the expensive real estate area in japan, with all the loius vitton etc crap that the pussy here(and the fags)love so much)
He actually gave Magical Racing the idea for the carbon mirrors in the past...

You cannot get offical moto corse parts now outside japan as they are the offical MV Agusta brand now(that was the case last time i heard)
