"World Superbike sensation Ben Spies has opted to quit World Superbikes and move to the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 squad where he will join fellow Texan Colin Edwards next season in an all-American team."
that will be a big loss for WSBK, but a big gain for GP... & GP needs a draw
maybe Ben will be able to throw Val a few curves... maybe
I knew this was coming! I don't know if anyone can find my post but I said this months ago. Spies would go to Tech 3 with Colin for a all Texas throwdown in MotoGP!!
Maybe Toseland could end up at Ducati xerox and win another WSBK title. Depending on what happens with Haga and Fabrizio. Or maybe take Spies place at sterligarda. Who knows
I hope that Ben isn't getting thrown into the deep end a bit early. I also hope that Colin will help him, as his relationship with Spies will have to be better than the one he had with Toseland...unless Ben starts beating him.
It will also be interesting to see how long it takes Ben to come up to speed, especially with regard to competing against Vale. I just hope that he is mentally tough enough and can withstand the increased pressure and expectations.
I wish him the best of luck...he'll need it even in his first "learning" season.
I dont se Ducati changing their line up at all, and adding a third bike has been out of the question since they entered MotoGP for money reasons. At least that s what Livio always said when asked about WSBK.

I
Colin has never been one to have a grudge against his teammate solely because he might be better. He has a grudge against Toseland because he acted like a tool and stole his crewchief behind his back (opinions vary, not going to get into it, old argument). Toseland is pretty much the only time Colin has had a problem with a teammate. Ben couldnt be in better hands at Tech 3.
I don't see Edwards being a dick. The deal with james was because he's a smug ass. Colin kinda calls it like it is....unless Tye knows the "real story"

Mommy is his "personal manager." Pathetic . Grow a pair for fu*k sakes . Ahh the good old days when Roberts would have called him a "fag" just to rattle him . Now , everybody has to be gentle , kind and lovely . Sounds like THE BOSS is just waiting for a better offer from MotoGP ; then she'll ALLOW Benny Boy to race there .

At least someone else has the same opinion about Ben Spies that I do... LOL
"Mary Spies said she did not want to add further fuel to the rumors, but she did acknowledge that nothing is impossible, that Yamaha may change its plans and her son may end up going to MotoGP in 2010 after all."
