Last year I made it to Indy on Saturday and felt like I missed a lot. This year I have a room overlooking Meridian Street From Thursday through Sunday. I want to do things like catch the mile, see what's happening at the track every day...
i'm too lazy to find you a list, i'm sure that will turn up.
But you do need to be downtown Saturday night. I think it was where you are staying that all the bikes lined up along a couple closed roads. It was a good time. Same place they put the riders names for street signs.
that said, i'd rather hit the indy mile if that's going on Saturday too.
The Mile is a must see. It's as good of a race as the GP itself. I haven't seen a schedule yet, but something went on everyday. Last year my buddy and myself went downtown on Tues for the official kickoff of events. We were looking to park our bikes and noticed a huge parking lot full of bikes, thought that was for parking. The lot had all the Redbull Rookie Cup riders, Police escorts, a few sportbikes, and a bunch of Harleys. So we parked and chatted. Then an orginizer starts to assemble all the bikes. We thought "What the hell is going on"? We were at the Parade site. My friend's bike is an R6 painted in the Redbull colors and decals. He looked like he belonged there...I was on an RC51 with bug splatters. We ended up riding with the Indy Police Drill team, and all the parade bikes in the parade through downtown!Itwas very cool. With about 20k people packed on the sidewalks and streets cheering us on. At one point we seen our other friend there on the sidewalk with a look like "what are those morons doing in the parade"? We will be back and hopefully will weazle our way into the parade again....I'll wash my bike this year though!!!

That is a GREAT story.
I'm going this year. I'm taking my little brother and my dad. I bought three sets of the Road Racer X package back in April... motorcycle parking, track lap, seating in SW Vista, and a souvenir. We're staying downtown. I'm looking forward to all there is to do and see.
What a great story! I think we're headed down Friday...unless the Moto GP Open House is worth the $160 overnight stay. Did anybody attend that on Thursday last year?
You should wear a Ferris Bueller mask in the parade!

PS. The Mile isn't "as good" as the GP, THE MILE IS BETTER YOU FOOL!
