Isn't there suppossed to be a new design every 2 years, so anyone heard anything? When do they release these models typically? Hoping a restyle is coming!
You can get an optional ABS like this year and maybe there'll be a few detail changes and the usual Repsol version available at a premium.
Great bike though I much prefer twins...
I had a long conversation with the owner of seven motorcycle dealerships. He told me not to expect any dramatic changes to sportbikes. This economy is killing the motorcycle industry. Unemployment among the target market is 25%. Financing is unavailable. Flooring costs have risen. They still have plenty of 2008 CBR1000RRs. They are selling for more than 25% below MSRP.
this economy?........wish in one hand...................
Especially in this economy Honda can't afford to merely ante up the same old
status quo I4... I think buyers are holding out for something new and exciting
like a RVF1000 V4...

Out The Door Cyclesports in Inglewood has to be the best dealer in the country. Most all of there bikes sell for less than Manufacturers MSRP including taxes and license. Los Angeles county sales tax is 9.75% so to still get the bike at or below MSRP is a DEEAAALLL.
IMO we have reached an effective limit in performance where even if they made them faster the end user most likely wouldn't be able to tell the difference or utilize it on the street. At least for literfours anyway. I know this argument has been made several times before (I was recently reading an old Cycle about the ZX-11 and how this was going to be the fastest bike ever, LOL). The "easy" gains in performance through lower weight and greater power have been realized. Some bikes now are on the verge of being so lightweight some parts are flimsy, and have more power than a GP racer of 15 years ago.
Think of somewhat simpler MX bikes, really how much different is a 2010 from a 2001 model? The same for top sportbikes IMO. New changes more for marketing and laws than real performance.
It makes sense given the economy that the design cycles may stretch out an additional year or two, although having new products ready for the eventual turnaround should also be in process.
2010 CBR same as it ever was UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah.. which is why I was hoping for a aesthetic change at the minimum... don't know what it is with this current liter bike crop, but they are ALL ugly... the usual pretty one (R1) got bit by a bug.
The original ZX-9R with the under light nostrils used to look smart, so did the 02 gixxers and the 05-07 CBR's. You put those and the 05-08 R1 next to the current crop and you wonder if evolution causes ugliness!
