Default KALEX engineering

wonder what Buell 1125R riders think of this special

KALEX engineering - Intro

The KALEX AV1 uses an V2 - V990R engine of Rotax. His 60° cylinder angle and the dry sump enables a compact package with a centralisation of weight. D The engine was tuned by our partner Amann Motorradtechnik up to 1100ccm by increasing the bore associated with new pistons from 97mm to 102mm. Throttle bodies with 60mm inlet per cylinder, spezial carbon inlet trumpets, shower injectors, an powerfull fuel pump in combination with an sensitve regualtor bolt in a CNC machined housing provides perfect mixture preparation. Set up the MOTEC M800 engine control unit regarding our purpose we gained maximum power of 163PS at 9500 U/min with maximum torque of 126 Nm at 7500 U/min. These values allow, for a bike of this weight class, in any driving situations a perfect balanced and impressive acceleration.

The bike shares its basic engine with the Aprilia RSV, not the Buell. Either way, it's a nice bike. Wonder how it works in the real world?

if they're Rotax then what are the major differences between the Ape & the Helicon, besides angle of the dangle?

I presume that you mean engine architecture as Aprilia quit having Rotax build their RSV motor quite a few years back now and now do it inhouse. Lots and lots of RSV visual ques though. Although Aprilia does their own engine work now, they will always owe a huge debt to Rotax.

In any event, this is one sweeeeeeeeet bike....very well thought out and assembled. The only complaint that I have, and it is niggly, is the the weld seam on the swingarm seems to be crooked.
