It is being done at the request of the insurance industry to cut down on theft.

Honda have put the engine into the only chassis it deserves, overweight tourer for an underpowered and obsolete engine configuration.
Old mans engine in an old mans chassis.

Obsolete engine configuration? Please elaborate, did I miss the 21st century or something!

Yes, hit the tomes and look up WSB, Moto GP, AMA Superbike, IOMTT...

Sadly a 1200 c.c. VFR wasn't what most had in mind; bring on an MGP 800 replica Honda... to compete with the new 848...

The VFR may have needed updating to bring it back to the front of the pack but a 400 c.c. jump wasn't it. Lose some weight was all really.

Surprisingly high and pointy tail for a typical "sport-tourer" , no ? Has Honda utilized the cbr1000 diet to produce an ss-tourer ? I doubt it b/c of all the electro trickery they'll include .
