Default Damn SuMo

Is gonna get my a$$ locked up I have turned squid and I cannot control it Went to bike nite on it last night. As usual there was a brief down the highway ride. Wheelies and that sort of stuff. I am involved couldn't resist 4th gear stand ups with the sportbikes So I am doing a beautiful 4th gear stand up (about 1/4 at this point) and I see ahead a few guys tapping their helmet tops then I hear the siren behind me. I sit it down and the city's finest is on my ass, I give a signal to the right lane. He goes by and pulls in front of the whole group, slows to about 50 mph then cuts the blues off and goes on about his business. So I'd say I got lucky since it was a large group and he prolly thought they would scatter like ants if he tried to pull us all over. I was thinking down the grass median and onto the frontage road was my outlet since I was one of three doing the wheelies other two on sportbikes. I have already had 3 other run ins on it all turned out with no citation. The thing is like a drug I cannot keep the front wheel on the ground or the rear wheel. In 800 miles it already needs tires I finally got the carb jetting sorted had to throw the dynojet kit away and repalce it with a JD kit, much better. I can wheelie about a mile right now standing up and that is about the time I get arm pump. It is an addiction like nothing I have ever experienced and I know right from wrong only this thing is blurring my vision a bit.

This cant be good for me. In 2 weeks I have a Husky 610SM coming my way. Oh well all those years of no tickets, I should have some points in my hat to give to the law.

Here in LA if you do a power wheelie by accident and a cop sees you, its $1300 bux and your bike gets impounded. I think its even worse in Florida. So I don't do wheelies, but I sure as hell don't obey the speed laws.

It is only a wreckless driving ticket here in Ms. right now. One of the riders last night is a cop in a town adjacent to the city we were in. He wheelies with the best of them. He also has got us off the hook a few times with the state police. For the most part most cops around here are not too bad but I have had the pleasure of running into a few dicks I am going to try and stop doing this crap before my perfect driving record becomes a visit to a judge to explain my actions. Funny how the SuMo draws the wrong attention just about everytime I throw a leg over it I can do the same crap on my B-King and not get looked at twice. I also got in trouble doing a stoppie at a light a few weeks back that almost went bad but luckily I was able to get out of it with a lenghty roadside discussion.

Maybe if all my trackdays this year would stop getting rained out I might not have so much energy left for road riding. I have had two complete wash outs this year latest being this past weekend at Barber.

Here's mine

At a red light, left hand lane. That lane turns left, right hand lane goes straight, which is what I want. Impala next to me, out of state plates...one driver. I wait for it to change and gun it. Intersection has a hump that causes me to power wheelie through it. I don't think I sped much. Next thing I notice that cars lighting me up!

I pull over, helmet off. Its a local LEO, drug unit he runs my info, tells me I have a nice bike and to take it easy. Really cool guy.

I got lucky!

Holy crap Tye! Is that what they do to us out here in CA?! O I'm so screwed. I hear ya BALLZ. Just got my 996 up and can't lay off the throttle or brakes. I've come to terms with the fact that I own a unicycle whether it's the front or rear tire lofted, but now... shit I dunno. I had NO idea how harsh the rules are out here for a state that LETS you split lanes.

Ended up seeking some info on it and found this:
Cycle Trader Insider - Motorcycle Blog by Cycle Trader: Is popping a wheelie a form of reckless driving?

just asked a co-worker to ask her bike riding CHP husband: "thousands of dollars, possible impound of bike, misdemeanor" yikes...

I've got a Husaberg FS650C Motard, I got yanked for;
Unsafe tires (new cut slicks)
No lights
No lights
No horn
No 17 digit Vin# (required of "on road" vehicles in Calif.)
No mirrors
No turn signals
No Licence plate
No proof of insurance
No registration
Wheelies/Speeding (I was going like 25 mph in a 35 zone!)
The Fookin' Chippie ran outa space on his ticket! Rather than just cite me for having a "non highway" vehicle, he decided to cite each individual infraction seperately! Long story short, I beat the ticket on a technicallity, (He didn't "re-identify" me before the judge, a new law here in Cali. that REQUIRES the LEO to point you out in court and say "I stopped so and so on this date and time, and THIS your honor is him") So after all that writing I walked away scott free (with a pissed off chippie cruising past my house on a daily basis.....) I feel yer pain my friend, imagine a supermoto like yours with twice the HP, and thats the 'Berg!

-Rocky-

PS. The reason it wasn't registered or plated is 'cause it's a RACE bike and CAN't be plated in California......

35 hp is all I need to get locked up on. I originally bought the thing to get more comfortable sliding and drifting on pavement to kind of transfer that confidence to my trackbike on the track. Well one wheelie/stoppie lead to anotehr and another. I have got more comfrotable sliding and feel more in control somthing my dirtbike really never transferred over to pavement very well so all is not lost on the thing. I just need to stop doing the wheelies and I think I will be okay on it. tires are starting to evaporate on the thing so that in its self may stop me from showing my butt since now it is hitting me in the wallet for a rear since I have no track takeoff 150 to use up on it. I think I will put the baffle back in the Yosh pipe, it is very loud and that is un-wanted attention right now.

The older I get, the quieter I like my bikes, quiet bikes save licences!

Yep, yo shitz gettin' impounded.

With that being said, its very hard to get a cop to do it. But I have a friend who had it done to him and he looked it up in the VC codes and found it! I was shocked they even care about wheelies.

I was a grade "A" assh0le before but since I got my Husqy I admit I cannot stop my self from wheeling over the train tracks, sliding the rear end around corners, ect. Some times even when I think I'm being responsible, I find myself wondering are those my tires squealing?
