Call some shoe repair places near you.

We have a place in our neck of the woods called "Continental Cobbler" that does shoe repair (obviously) and also leather repair. There's a Korean lady there who can make, alter, or repair anything, and she does it at stupid low prices.

I have crashed suits she altered for me - her stitchwork always holds even when the factory's doesn't.

I once had her take two inches off the legs of a one piece suit above the knees, and she did it perfectly, including the liner, for under $100 and got it back to me in a week. This was perforated leather, too.

Every time I come in with rashed up leathers she looks at me and says "Oh no, Mr. Jones! What did you do?"

I tip her big time.

I mention all this because there's probably someone in your local strip mall who can do the work.

Barnacle Bill Barnacle Bills Racing Leathers did my suit 10 years ago after a bad crash and paramedics had to cut my leathers along the waist, chest, and arm to peel me out. I think back then it was ~$100 to do that job.

Nothing wrong works great, but would you put duck tape on your bodywork?

Default Tires??

Looking for some tire advice.
Have been using Michelin Pilot Power (not RACE) street tires for years on my track-only Ducati 748 and they have treated me well....until now! I now run them on my 999R that has 130 hp (up from 87 on the 748), I'm still running the 180/55 rear. But now with the increased corner speed and hp they are loosing grip in corners to the point that I landed on my head late in the day on my last track outing (NJMP) What I'd like to know is what would be recommended for the next logical step UP in rubber?
Please keep in mind that:
1. I'd rather not have to use tire warmers.
2. I buy a lot of tires during the year, so I'd like to keep the cost down!
BTW- I don't race. Trackdays only. I'm a FAST Intermidiate rider (NESBA, etc) or Slow Advanced rider (Tony's Trackdays, etc)
TIA
'Lidz

I have not used duck tape before. Do you have a link for this product?
