"The company had no interest in experimenting with engine design that departed radically from the in-line Four formula that’s proven so successful, and the S1000RR is a competition killer… at least on paper!"
BMW will learn that the past is no road to a successful future... you have to
think ahead of the competition and not just labor in their shadows...
They say they are not interested in experimenting but look for BMW to
experiment with Yamaha's "virtual V4" idea in 2010...

The M Works will have that bike at the front of the grid soon enough.

Errr.... how about no?
Its real nice in car land, where you can make a some what exotic ride and price it into the clouds...
But this is bike world, where they haven't even tried a race bred inline four previous to now. Can they make a competitive motor? By all means yes. Can they spin straw into gold and make a dominant motor thats not a twin with an advantage? Hell no.
Its nice to dream... but it'll be one helluva nightmare before they have a motor that dominates the WSBK field.

Wouldn't be a bad idea for your boy to get himself to the doctor, then. Just a precaution, mind you.
