I could be wrong but it looks like an air pump that pushes air into the combustion chambers. Many car's have this to help burn spent gases. Wondering if they wired it in such a way to pump more air through the system and in theory giving them a mini super charger.

It's all here in the description-

The member outlaw was a pump electrical worker very hidden behind Carter who inhaled the gas of drainage from the same one, creating a species of sottovuoto.

rumormill... The kit in question is a widely available part for the Honda but, according to rules and regulations is illegal to use. If during a inspection this pump was found it would lead to an immediate disqualification. It seems an inspection found the pump hidden behind the engine casing performed by WSBK insepector Fabio Fazio. The component was an outlawed electric pump which inhales the exhaust gases creating a kind of vacuum. It seems that this device is available on the market in the Anglo-Saxon kit, and depending on which of the bike it is used could give some advantage.

someone on WERA posted a link to a Jegs pump claiming 10-15hp gains but this can't be the same part for a CBR600RR... any experts here know wtf this mystery pump is & where sold?

I doubt that pump would "inhale" exhaust gases with those plastic pipes!!

Huh? Isn't he some kind of Eyetalian Super Model?

I am sure that his experience with pumps would be of a rather different kind.

It could be a vaccum pump for the crank case. you can use them to reduce pumping losses. what it does it allow you to build an engine that is slightly looser in order to reduce parasitic losses through friction. In turn it removes blow by from the crank case reducing the air pressure on the bottom side of the piston, as well as helping to seal the rings through the complete stroke of the crank. the way a compression ring works is that it's pushed against the cylinder walls by pressure on top of the piston. if you put a bit of vaccum on the bottom side it helps to reduce the delay; if you will, of the rings being pressed outward. these kind of things are used quite a lot on high po v8 race engines. I've personaly seen a vaccum pump give a BB chevy an extra 15 hp.

15 hp is definitely huge for such a simple mod. two things to consider is that a BB chevy moves a lot of air around and is a dinosaur. a CBR will probably see less gain from it, but every little bit counts. and the higher the compression whether static or dynamic the better it works.

Talking pump

Don't the dragbike racers use a pump to vacuum air out crankcase?
