I've ridden one of these bikes the last month. It's a pretty funky bike: very good engine (same as the Thunderstorm-engined Buells but without any power dip), surprisingly good brakes, decent suspensions... "Problems" are the pegs position (you'll have to ride pretty much bow legged) and the peculiar rake angle, but it cannot be avoided.
The only issue is finish and component quality: it's not as bad as a Buell but it's nowhere near any of the Twin Cam models. Given the asking price (around 11.500 Euros here, discount already applied) it's evident they cut corners to keep the European price down.
Final comment: it's pretty much the same price as a Honda DN01 but, having ridden both bikes, there's no contest. The H-D not only wins, but rides circles around the Japanese "sport cruiser".
you'd probably need an "oil diaper" under that one, however, lol
A re-issue of the XLCR would be a nice thing too though (so long as it had enough power to pull the wings off a fruitfly of course, unlike most of Milwaukee's line-up)
This look, with the new engine, and some brakes, would be awesome.
I love the look of the XLCR...
It'll still be slow, but who cares ?
The XR1200 is a strange beast. It's ugly and plastic.
I can't understand why the people who are capable of creating the "Nightster" and the "883 Iron" flub the ball and churn out this "Oddster" thing.
Now, if it looked like an XR1000 or XLCR1000........
"Black rain" is still one of my favorite films, and Michael Douglas thrashing the wheels of his XLCR and beating the in-line four in the opening minutes are a ball !
Ahhh, Hollywood !

Well the pipes are coming out the wrong side of the bike. Did you guys read where Storz said the rear wheel, brake rotor and belt pulley weighed in at 43 lbs. That exhaust system also drops 15 lbs and boosts midrange a good amount.
Looks like a nice harley 1985 model release. Hee hee.
Don't just about all of their bike releases look like a 85 or older? I mean really?
Funny how the bike begins to look better the more you put up-to-date bike parts on it (read: japanese looking parts).
Who the hell wants to deal with spokes on a wheel in 2009? What the hell?
It looks more like a super-moto bike, just uglier.
On a side note, the Harley V1000 road bike (raced in the AMA) was absolutely the ugliest thing in the pits, and almost had the performance on track to match it.
I kinda liken the Harley brand design to that of Oldsmobile and Ford. They just make ugly cars that old people (85+) like and drive, or they run back to old designs by people that have long since left the earth.
