Granted this model has a reputation for breaking on impact makes no difference to me as long as I keep it on two wheels upright. I have owned alot of GSXR's and this one has been the best of the lot hands down. When they started fiddling with the electronics and adding O2 sensors and catalytic converters I lost interest in a new sportbike. So what if my '06 weighs 370+/- lbs. all that goes away when you twist the throttle.
This is the mentality that sells new bikes and leads to manufacturers building components that will survive just out of warranty and fail in one crash.

Your '06 GSXR is far from even "somewhat" outdated. All the new literbikes, since about 2004, have so much capability above the skills of anyone other than a championship-level pro. Your bike is so fast, brakes so well, and its handling so sublime that you will never find the limit on the street. It would take that special 99.5% percentile rider to really even approach it on the track for an entire session.

I am by no means that 99% rider, I'm so out of practice I'm probably not even a 50% rider anymore. I buy what I want because I think it is neat or have always wanted one. I'll never line up at the dealer for the fastest thing, because in a few months there will be one faster anyway.

You may be different of course...

No I am not much different at all. I did 2 trackdays on the 1000 this year and I ran almost my old 600 race times on the thing in streetbike setup bone stock. Your right the thing handles great right out of the box only when the laps get hotter and longer do things start to fade on it primarily the suspension and braking system. Only thing I had not stock was Vesrah RJL front brake pads on it and race rubber. I bought a '07 600 mid summer completely race prepped and parked the 1000 for street rides only. I have been tempted here lately to sell or trade off the 1000 for a B-King just for shits and giggles but just can't bring myself to get rid of the 1000. I like big torquey fast motorcycles on the street but not so much on the track.

Negative... Honda's cammy hit I4 simply didn't provide the linear power like
their V4 did... consequently the RC45 could pull it down the straights...

"Straight out of the crate, the RC45 is the best bike of 1994 no
question, Flat, fat spread of torque, instant throttle response and
handling to die for make the RC45 the fastest, bar nothing, over a
given stretch of road. You can push further, go faster and still have
an enormous safety margin with the RC45. There's always another
gear with the RC45. It can hold Fire Blades (CBR900RR) off when
accelerating down the straights."

Quote Motosports
"As much as we enjoyed the CBRs overall package, there was one area our beauty let
us down - the bikes powerband. On the track where revs will naturally be up, it may
pose no problem. But for street riding Honda simply missed the mark, possibly
choosing engine output more suitable for track use. At lower revs the engine pulls
smoothly, but right where you need that lower midrange surge of power, for rolling on
exiting corners for instance, the powerband lets you down as you hit a flat spot in the
power curve. The CBRs engine simply doesn't provide the linear power delivery so many
Hondas are well known for."

The problem with the Honda's 900 113HP effort and much of the other

a streebike... street goal aluminum frames could only cope with road engines
so slap in a WSB spec mill and it just threw in the towel... But on the road
they developed a massive following which continues today... you can pick
one up for next to nothing... if you ride the old 900RR and you'll know they are
not on the same planet as true exotic homologated specials like RC30 RC45 R7 ZX7R...

No, they are my initials. You enjoy your RC45. I have had a much different experience. Hands down, it's the worst bike I have ever owned. Once you see through all the Honda hype there isn't much left.

Way too many to list. Bikes are tools, nothing more IMO. Next time I'm in my old photos box I'll scan it and send you a picture. As long as you promise not to masterbate to it.

If bikes a just a tool to you then how could the RC45 disappoint so much and
end up being the worst tool you have ever owned???
