Well enough...
1 = Yamaha V Max
2 = Suzuki 1200 Bandit
3 = Honda 1800 Valkyrie with little or no exhaust
4 = Suzuki SV650
5 = Triumph 675 with after market exhaust
6 = Honda CBX with after market exhaust
7 = Suzuki GT750
8= Ducati 748
... but this gets my vote as the best sounding bike...

1 = Agree with Larry sounds like a V4.
2 = R1
3 = dont know but it sounds more like a car so a V6 could be right.
4 = def small displacement vtwin, probably SV
5 = 600I4 maybe a R6 altho its not revving very high so BSL might be right.
6 = S3/Daytona I3.
7 = No clue but displacement is less than 600 imo....def not a twin.
8 = 916/998
Out of that bunch #3 sounds sick at WOT....LOL!
But again Id have to go with BSL's all time best sound, definitely the Ducati GP and then Id have to say Honda RCV.

1. No clue. Interceptor?
2. Obviously on a dyno. I'm guessing Hayabusa, maybe w/turbo.
3. The tire squealing makes me think it is a long bike, like the Valkyrie mentioned earlier.
4. Ducati 999
5. 955cc Triumph. Either Daytona or S3. No question.
6. Drysdale V8?
7. Air-cooled five speed. I'm guessing CBX.
8. Air-cooled Ducati. Probably 900SS.

1) V4. Interceptor or maybe Desmosedici?
2) Big I4. That narrows it down to about 231,325,297 possibilities...
3) Flat 6. Valkyrie baby! Got a set of 2 Bros. pipes on it as well.
4) L twin. Smooth enough to be an SV or RC51?
5) Triple. Triumph something or other.
6) I6? I'm goin' with CBX.
7) Tough one! Is it a big triple???
8) L twin. Ducati.
As for the best sounding one I gotta go with #3. That Valk sounds like a GT3 at LeMans!

It's def a Triumph triple but I think it spools up too quick to be the ponderous
955... it has to be the new 675...

The starter sounds exactly like my old '02 Daytona. At least the second-gen ('02-05) 955 would rev quicker than you expect. A great street engine, the torque of the twin and top end of a four. With a pipe at 11,000 rpm the sound will make the hair stand up on your neck.
I am anxious to see what the answers are for all eight bikes. We know the Valkyrie for sure.

I thought I would add that the best-sounding bike wasn't on the list. An 851/888 with pipes has to be experienced to be believed. There is something about the individual pipes separated by some distance that makes them sound different than the 916 and newer bikes. More bass.
Without the airbox the intake roar is almost as loud as the exhaust.
Mine will set off car alarms, and you can hear it for literally miles on a quiet evening.

Starters are probably the same but 955 don't rev as quick as my V4 and that
is what I expect from all my bikes... OK I'm spoiled...
But I will confess to you Sburns that the torque pull of your 955 triple and
Mr.RC45 feels about equal... it's just the V4 feels a lot more lively...

YouTube - Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR Screamer
If we are talking about the D16 screamer, don't forget about this bike. Maybe next year we will get to hear it in a race.
