Indy GP Track day.
We are taking part in a Track day the Thursday of Moto GP in Indy at Putnam Park Road Corse which is the closest track to the GP. It is 38 miles from the Indianapolis Motor Speedyway.
It will be the standard 3 group setup. Cost is $200. Purchase your spots here before they fill up: Commonwealth Motorcycles
We hope to see a lot of you there!

We will see you there....just look for the black Silverado and stop by and introduce yourself.
A track day before the IndyGP......it may not be heaven but it's damned close.

I can't wait! I've been to Putnam 4 times this year and just can't get enough!
I rode Mid-Ohio Monday which probably would have been fun, but there were 50-60 people in my group and a red flag almost every session I rode in. Made me long for our group at Putnam.
In the 4 days we've hosted there this year we've only had 1 or 2 red flags total for all groups on all days combined.

Just out of curiousity, how come Putnam Park is THE ONLY racetrack in the whole country that prohibits camping. I have camped at Jennings, Talladega, VIR, Road Atlanta, Barber, Mid-Ohio......and have ridden at Putnam Park two years ago....had to find somewhere else to stay overnight......totally stupid and idiotic......just no excuse for it. Nice track but sorry management.

I don't have an answer to that one! You'd have to ask the owner, Chris, I suppose.
We stay at the Walden-Inn in Greencastle. It is on Depauw campus and is quite nice. It has a bar/restaurant in it... definitely not a budget motel though.
I was told before that there is a camp ground not too far from the track, but I don't know where... I'm not much on the outdoors

Hey Marc,
I can't wait - I'm so ready to ride again! I'm not sure how I'm going to survive the upcoming winter.
We usually arrive at the track around 7:15-7:30 to get setup. Track isn't open until 9am... but there will be a riders meeting around 8:45, maybe a few minuets earlier.
So I guess it just depends how much you have to setup. If you leave Lousiville around 5 you should be fine. Are you going up 65 to 465 to 70 then 40 or are you going the back way which takes you 64 to 135 to 37 to 231 then to 40 (which the track is off of)?

If you beat others to it you can setup on Pit Road. Generally what we like to do is drop all of our equipment off on Pit Road and pack as many people in there as possible. It is more fun this way and more of us get together than if one or two big ass rigs show up and park there.
I drop my bikes, pop-up, gear, etc... off on the front then park my truck behind the tower.
I'm not sure how many people are going to be there total, but I'd guess less than 50 - so there will be more track time then you can shake a stick at! There are other people selling the day so the number could be higher or lower... I'm just guessing at this point.
