If Bayliss is healthy, he will grind Max into the ground over the course of the season. Max is weak, Bayliss is not! Xaus will also be a major thorn in Max's side! It is shaping up to be a very interesting year!

[quote=hank;448535]Say what you will about the guy's personality, but he can still ride - not a bad showing for a satellite team...
You'd think it would have taken him a while to get used to the twin after being on the I4. To be so fast this early is impressive.

Before the start of last WSB season, every journalist predicted that Max would be chewed up and spat out by the other riders and wouldn't last.
He was mere few point from taking the crown..who knew? (okay, I knew).
Gooo Max!

not bad for a slow, lumbering v-twin that can't handle.
While I'm not a Max fan, and Bayliss is much tougher mentally, I'm all behind the thundering twins again. Wish Honda, BMW, Aprilia and KTM would join the fray though, with their versions, but it seems that even BMW feel that a 1200 twin can't compete against the 1000cc fours. Damn!.

quote from cycle news;
Lynn was not the team's first choice. German Alex Hofmann had a number of discussions with the team, but opted to sign a two-year contract with Aprilia's World Superbike team. Hofmann, who was let go by the Pramac d'Antin Ducati team late in the 2007 season, will spend 2008 testing the Aprilia in anticipation of a 2009 WSB debut.

I am not familiar with Max's new ride this year. Is it a competitive package, it looks like a satellite Duc team.

I don't think that the team let him go, they just "forgot" to fix a bike for him to ride after he "forgot" to ride one in a race. Life is funny like that.
