Had one (92) years ago and couldn't hardly give it away. Got $4000 for it when I sold it in 99. Didn't make for a very good street bike though with the flat slides??

Kie has one.....Red Label Moto Always wants alot of money for his units though??

Motorcycle City in Lemon Grove CA had one a couple of months ago. Maybe they could get you in touch with the new owner and you could see if he wants to sell it.

CycleForums - Almost new 1996 ZX-7RR in N. Michigan - $7,500

Not involved in the sale, just saw it and thought I'd pass it along.

You gotta giggle just a bit when you see 7,500 hundred for a ZX7.
I Owned 2, and let me tell you, todays 750 kicks it in the pants not too mention any 1k liter bike. If you buy it for that price it has to be a love affair.

That is funny, when I read that it only had a few hundred miles for only $7500 I thought it sounded like a good if not great buy. A basically brand-new homologation special for less than a new 600? RC51's are a dime a dozen in comparison to the RR.

I guess I would buy it for what it is versus passing for what it isn't.

Seems pretty cool to me too.

Of course, we know it doesn't put out 190 rwhp like an RC45!

Default You guys are missing out...

Boy, I've treasured my time on my ZX-7s. Sure they are older bikes with older technology. But oh my gosh...they rocked when new!

I still challenge you guys to find a better handling bike!

One of my favorite Japanese bikes of all time. Slow steering , very heavy (even by the standards of its day) and pretty breathless after you pass through its best in class midrange but a wonderfully stable, sweet handling bike. I've never ridden a well sorted/modified RC51 but the stockers I did ride handled like dessicated shit compared to the 7 which had one of the most confidence inspiring front ends I've ever experienced. I also find it to be one of the better looking Japanese bikes ever made. I haven't been on one in years and I'd be very curious to take one on the track along together with an old YZF750 which were also very sweet handling bikes. They'd get eaten alive by today's 600s of course but I wonder to what degree (if any) their virtues would still shine or whether my fond recollections would be run off the track in my sentimental journey if faced with a modern day, side by side equipment comparo.

I believe the RC51 took 2 WSBK titles and not three while the 1993 iteration of the 7 won one title in 1993 which is exactly the number of championships won by the far more expensive, powerful and complex RC45.

And the R7 won exactly how many WSB or even AMA championships? Compared to the ZX7?

If WSB championships is the definitive yardstick for streetbike greatness, you all should be riding Ducatis.
