the R7 was a very special holo and limited and very capable when kitted and very collectable and the ZX is not that was my point
also, the 51 at least won a few IOM and suzuka races, how many for the zx?

I also find it to be one of the better looking Japanese bikes ever made. I haven't been on one in years and I'd be very curious to take one on the track along together with an old YZF750 which were also very sweet handling bikes. They'd get eaten alive by today's 600s of course but I wonder to what degree (if any) their virtues would still shine or whether my fond recollections would be run off the track in my sentimental journey if faced with a modern day, side by side equipment comparo.

you muct not have ridden a reworked 51 front end as it has about the best production brakes ever to grace a motorcyle as well as being one of the most stable and confidence inspiring front ends on a bike so you got shafted on rides then

Production of the '96 RR was the same as the R7...500 units.
The bike came out in 1996 and with Eboz nearly won the superbike championship eight years later, if not for Yates bonehead takeout at Laguna. He probably bought a couple more years as Yosh Suzuki for that stunt.
Show me a Japanese bike that was competitive that long.
Kawasaki was never dominant like Ducati in WSBK, but that was probably as much to do with their riders as the bike. If Gobert hadn't went to GP, I'm prety sure he would have been up there on the ZX.

The RC51 SP2 front end was pretty good once resprung and valved but the brakes are not "the best production brakes to ever grace a motorcycle" That status belongs to the 1098 according to numerous magazine testers worldwide. I owned a very well set up and properly prepped RC51.
According to my friend at HRC the stock RC Showa forks were the only Honda forks up to that time to be equiped with fork internals of the same quality level as the base line production Ducati superbike Showa fork internals.

they why bother to mention a opinion then say you never rode one modded at all, seems likes a slight of hand trick.
just say your experience is nothing on a bike and then add this

the AMA is a weak argument. where have you seen a guy like matt win 6 championships either you hear me? also, the ducati won like what 4-5 titles with carl but not one in the AMA sop what does that do to your theory? the RC30 did not do so well in the AMA but won globally as well as 1 WSBK so there again weak at best.
the zx was a heavy quirckity neato bike that could have been but did not that would be nice to collect but hardly worth very much, i saw one go not long ago for like $3500 to be honest.
good luck finding one original poster i will keep and eye open for you

Doug Polen and Troy Corser won AMA titles on the Ducati.
The RC30 won WSBK in 1988 & 1989 with Merkel. That is two not one by my count.
When the ZX-7R ('91-94 MY) came out, it was competitive with the GSXR. The RR was also competitive when it came out. I could care less about the current value. Actually I hope they stay cheap, I'll buy one with beer money.
