Default Clear/colored brake resevoir hose

My buddy, the illustrious Dr. Tarr, insists on clear green or blue brake resevoir hose for his 749R. Where do I get this stuff??? Obviously ,it has to be safe for brake fluid. Thanks in advance.

Yes, inless JD's hardware store just happens to have the right stuff, most hardware stores don't stock the hose made of the right material. You can find blue or green fuel hose around here but that is not the right material either.

Dr. Tarr wants the colored hose that he sees on Hayden's bike.

I just bought some of the yoyodyne clear hosing and it amazinglt stiff. There is no flex to it at all, so getting it over the bleed nipple on the brakes was impossible. I ended up using some rear brake hose(the black stuff) instead. Has anyone actually installed the yoyo clear hose with success?

I got mine from Rigor, he sells them for cheap, make sure the hose if you diy will resist "sweeting" the brake fliud through the tube.

I ran some plastic sealant through it and let it dry before installing it, theoretically creating a hard membrane that would prevent weepage. Has worked thus far, not a drop has seeped through.

Tubing from Ace hardware for over a year and not one single issue. I'm not so sure there is a "special" tubing. If there is i'd like to know how the translucent green tubings molecular structure(other than the gren hue) is different from the regular plumbing tubing i bought.

for $8 a foot from yoyodyne it is worth the piece of mind, knowing that this is the exact use for the paticular tubing.

comes in different size as well 6mm,8mm and 10mm IIRC

Im pretty sure the green or blue color comes from the actual brake fluid not the color of the tubing.

Mine is blue from the ATE super blue race fluid.

I've used the yoyodyne stuff on three bikes, with no sweating or anything. Granted it would be nice to find it for cheaper, but I agree with the 8 bucks and the piece of mind comment. I run ATE as well, though have noticed that the first time that tubing sits in the sun for more than 20 minutes it will take on a yellowish hue since my tubing looks green now. Still looks ****ing cool though. Race bling what!!!!

Are you sure you got the right diameter? They carry different sizes. I bought some from them and it worked fine.
