Default My new paintjob

Fresh Paint
I spent the weekend color sanding and buffing the paint on my 04 Factory.
Looks pretty dam good. No wax on it yet – the paint is still too new.
I did burn through the paint in 2 spots on the tank that I will fix later but I am going to touch up the mirror, I had a drip and sanded into the base coat trying to remove it. I plan to re-clear the mirror before this weekend.
I am going to deals gap this weekend and was rushing to get it together. The bike was covered in wet-sanding crap when I took these pictures. I hope to get it all back together tonight.
When I get back, I plan to paint some other parts of the bike and clear all the carbon fiber.
The color is 2005 Maserati red
Eddie

Looks super sharp, Eddie. Maybe I missed it but what did it have to be painted?

everything red on the bike was painted by me.
it was a silver bike a week ago.
I had a lowside that did very little damage, but I was never in love with the silver and dark gray color on the bike. Plus the orange stickers looked like crap to me and it didn't match my tank bag!

Here it is.
The paint is Dupont, the color is 2005 Maserati red. I don't have the codes, I left everything at my friends shop where I painted it. I plan to paint the under tray red where the bodywork is red. I may paint mart of the rear hugger red.

I also plan to get some clear turnsignal lens and new exhaust can.

The carbon fiber looks great with the red. I can't wait to clear coat the carbon so that it stands out more.

I don't have the air deflectors on, I forgot to put the rubber wellnuts into the upper and I can't get them in with the headlights in the way.

I am leaving today for a 4-day trip thru KY, NC, SC, TN and GA. we will hit Deals Gap on Monday. This is going to be my 2nd long trip on the Aprilia, and the first ride of the year for me (I have not ridden at all since October of last year!)

Wow, that's really, really beautiful!!! I love that red!

I have an RSV1000R as well with that silver/ grey factory colours and like you, I'm not that happy with those colours either.

I have a weakness for the Aprilia. It will be my next bike after the RC51.
You have transformed the bike from looking average to being absolutely
a "10" model. She's got very sensual lines. Have fun on your trip. Holy moses, first ride since last October? Wow. Just take it easy and watch for those trucks and errand drivers in the Deal Gap.

Nice work, looks terrific all back together. I love that shade of red, What did that cost per QT?
