Default Damn, got pulled over on the 750 sunday

Did something stupid, got home from the Daytona trip at noon and decided to put all the street plastics back on the 750 so I could ride it on the street in the next few weeks before I go to another trackday. Took me about an hour. So I grab my old Norrick Shoei I use for the up the street rides, no gear except that, tie dye WERA shirt no gloves and slip on shoes. I was only going up the road to see if everything was tight and right. I did not even have my wallet so no license.

I got to the subdivision entrance looked left then right no one coming (I thought) I pulled out right 1st, 2nd bike lofts the wheel, 3rd still on the rear wheel set it down 4th, 5th up to a buck 20, sit up and notice a dark car in the distance, look around , shit its a sheriffs deputy cruiser. I'm thinking maybe he didn't see what I just did so I come to the stop sign, both feet down, right blinker on, start to pull away and the siren horn bleeps, I look back he points to the shoulder, oh shit he did see me. I pulled to the side he comes up beside me passenger window down, "says Roy don't do that in front of me I'll have to write you up man" I'm like I don't know this guy. I said I just live right down the road there, he said "I kow where you live" "I've got a bike and love to wind it up too but just don't do that in front of me" I said no problem It won't happen again.

I pulled away and he followed me a mile or so and turned off. I was lucky it was a cool cop not all are so cool about things like that. So the cops know me and know where I live. I ride alot and I guess people talk good to know he didn't think I was a punk just showing off. That darn 750 is addicting but all my ducks are in a row on it, ugly mud flap fender on the bike with a clear tag all the OEM blinkers are on it and I don't run from the law.

I went straight home and parked it, wife got a good laugh out of the story.

There are train tracks by my house that you have to slow WAY down to cross. Right after the tracks the road rises up to go over a highway.

I crossed the tracks in 1st gear then did a wheelie thru 2nd and as I crested the hill, I could see a cop coming the other way. As I past him, he had his arm out the window pointing down to let me know that he wanted me to keep the front wheel on the ground.

Default Must have been a "get pulled over" Sunday....

In between switching around between street and track bodywork, I managed to lose my license plate (as I take it off each time) and the abyss of the garage seems to have swallowed it or something. So I've been waiting on a replacement plate from the DMV.
So this Sunday, I was riding along near my home and was passing a car that was in the left lane and in front by going into the right lane and accelerating; I passed going into a corner and just as I began to accelerate around the car, a cop passed in the opposite direction.
I coast down the hill, see him behind me and pull off to the side of the road once I see the lights go on behind me.
I shut the bike off, pulled my gloves off and immediatly the officer's behind me yelling, "Hands behind your back!" and cuffs me. Starts searching me, pulls out my wallet and ID and takes away my ignition key. I try and tell him I've got no weapons and he yells "shut your mouth or I'm taking you to jail."
Goes back to the squad car to run my record, comes back and uncuffs me , instructs me to put the kick-stand down, take off my helmet and sit on the ground.
I ended up getting a ticket for 5 mph over the posted limit and an "unsafe maneuver" (for failing to signal before passing a car in front of me).
He later apologized for cuffing me and explained that he thought I may have been a motorcycle thief with a weapon; fair enough.
Interesting way to start a Sunday nonetheless.
The replacement plate came in the mail, Monday morning.

Damn, don't you just love when cops knows you and lets you off with a warning I had the same thing happen to me, my friends (popos) were doing their radar round up (hiding in bushes). I was going 90 on a 45 didn't notice them till it was too late but at a quick glance I noticed 3 of my cop friends and they all just turned the other way pretended not to notice They know my car because it was the only two tone at the time

Once I went out for a ride alone just to cool off my head.
I was going through with something that I really needed something to make me feel better.
I was wearing one piece leathers, gloves, boots and even back protector.
I went to this road locally known as Racers Road in Brookshire, TX.
Speed limit is 55mph and it's 7 mile long twistie/sweepie road (okay, I can hear you are laughing now).
I was going about 76mph around the corner and I saw a cop coming around from the other side of the road.
I thought since I wasn't going all that fast and the local cops are normally cool about riders with gear, I didn't think he'll pull me over.

And... he did.

"Did you know how fast you were going? You were going 85mph"
"No, sir. I saw you and I looked at my ODM, I was going 76mph"
"Give me your license and insurance"

At first I didn't care.
I was like, whatever.
Than, I realized I'm really not in the position to deal with all these.

So I asked

"I'm sorry that I was going so fast. Before I saw you, I didn't know how fast I was going. I have some personal things going on that did let it out a little bit."
"Unlike other motorcycle riders, I really appreciate your good attitude. I'm not going to write you a ticket. I'm just writing you a warning"
" "

Than we started chatting a little bit.
He complimented my gear and bike.
I told him I normally ( ) don't ride fast on public road.
He learned about trackday and said would like to come out to see me and others.
I told him to bring speed gun.

Later he said.

"You know... I'm the only unit out here today. So, let it out a little bit, but be careful"
" "

I went up and down the road several times (a little faster this time ).
Everytime I saw him, I waved and he happily waved back at me.
It was a good day.

I never risk the ticket, I just take off if I see a cop.
