Default Putting shelves in a trailer

I have a friend that wants me to build some shelves for his trailer. The idea I have drawn up would mount to the wall against 2 of the vertical ribs on the inside of the trailer. I figure it will weight about 50lbs empty and would be capable of holding 4 rims and tires. My concern is that the total weight would be more then the aluminum ribs can support and buckle the side. I think I can make the whole deal free standing but that would be alot more work then the way I have it drawn up now. Have any of you guys hung any cabinets or such inside an enclosed trailer?? Any problems with the weight of them or do you just keep em real light?

Its nt a shelf, but I built a cabinet for a tv and dvd player in mine. Weighs about 30lbs total.

Have 2 hooks on teh side wall for holding rim and tires.

Generally the "studs" in the wall are made of steel Unless your friend has Featherlight trailers.

Most of the studs are 1x1 square tubing just a FYI.

Some trailers have 16" OC studs. Some are 24" OC. Also be carefull about where you put the screws. Sometimes they run wires in areas you'd never expect.

If they are steel I COULD just weld them to the wall!!! I think this will come out good. I will post some pics when I am done.

Yeah you could weld them, but you really gotta be carefull since most trailer skins are .031" thick. The heat could warp that area or scortch the paint. But it can be done.
