Default David Bailey, Ricky James, is Vincent H next?

How about David Bailey, Ricky James on 2 wheels on dirt (both with paralyzed legs)!

So if Vincent Haskovic can ride again, can he race AMA with outriggers?

Why not? Stewart Goddard used to race the Aprilla Cup. He was a parapalegic.

Goddard did not use outriggers on his race bike. He had to start on the last row because his crew helped him start by holding the bike for him. Pretty couragous guy in my opinion. I spoke with him on a couple of occasions and thought he was pretty cool.

I think Sport Rider did a write up on his 900rr with outriggers...or I could just be making that up...

I dunno who it was, but at one of the team pro motion events I saw CRs helping a paraplegic guy on the bike. They had some interesting belts to strap him down.

I thought that was pretty amazing. They'd catch him as he came into the pits and help him get off and into the wheel chair.

Dunno why, but the whole ordeal touched me.

I'm paralyzed and still do track days. It is a ton of fun but a paralyzed person can never be as competitive as an able bodied person. He could still ride for fun and I’m sure talent alone he would be fast but he would never be competitive again against AMA riders. The upper body strength and endurance that someone paralyzed needs to ride a sportbike is incredible and there is no way for us to shift our weight around on the bike. We can't weight the pegs we have to keep a tight grip on the bars because that is the only thing that stops me from going off the back of the bike when accelerating and the only thing that stops me from going over the bars when braking. There are a ton of other obstacles we have to endure just to stay on the bike without legs falling off and just plain balance issues.

If I was sitting on my bike and someone came over a gave me a slap on the shoulder hard enough I’d fall off the side of the bike if I wasn't holding on to the bars. We have no trunk, lower back, abs or supporting muscles that allows us to support ourselves. Not to mention if we fall we are so much more likely to break bones and get injured. I could go on and on.
