Cool Honda claims first MotoGP trophy of '06

Honda is really excited about their recent performance at the Official Catalunya test and presented Nicky with a full-size RCV trophy! Nice...

I'm a Hayden fan, but that was funny!

Who's the eighth-grader on the far left?

Soup's usually pretty testy about people taking content off their site. Who'd you get the OK from there? Especially with photos it seemed in the past.

Just to make you happy, I emailed Dean and attached the picture. FWIW- I think he will laugh. Of course, I am wrong about almost everything.

For Dean you just need to tag it with "Kurtis isn't in here either".

No HRC is dead serious. They are committed to building the Repsol Team's confidence with awards like these. They feel that they have what it takes to go toe to toe with Kawasaki and Suzuki this year.

You serious? I could swear I remember someone from this forum taking some GREAT pics at Laguna last yr and a few of them wound up on Soup without his permission. He was flattered more than po'ed but nevertheless Im pretty sure it happened.

Let's not start a conversation about them, things will be said, feelings will get hurt, and postmen will be blamed, all in the name of "it must be someone else's fault."

That was me and thanks for the compliment. Just to set the record straight, Dean actually got my permission before posting them and gave me credit as well. He did it right.

Nope. Not a dime -- but I'm hoping I can possibly use the portfolio to help get me a press pass through a smaller publication or something. Just gotta do some legwork and see if anything sticks. I put the collection in my PBase gallery for those that want another look

Nice stuff - were you on a photo pass at Laguna, or did you just have a REALLY long lens?

Very tough to get "in" as a photog in either MotoGP or WSBK. There are a couple of top people (Kel Edge, Gold & Goose, Graeme Brown) that the mags use. The web thing is your easiest bet, but as you've found out, none of the web guys pay shit.

Don't ask me how I know this

I didn't have a photo pass but Laguna is one of the best tracks to get a shooter closer to the action. That, and the fact that I was using a 100-400mm lens with a 1.6x crop camera (equivalent of a 160-640mm on a full-frame 35mm camera), helped me get some tight shots. I'm not looking to make any $$$ from my hobby though, I'd just like to get the pass so I can enjoy the racing up close. I'll consider myself very lucky if that happens.
