Actually, his pinky wasn't broken from the fall itself but a result of the bike behind him running over his hand.

seems JLo is riding well for having a fork in him...... lol Nice effort by MM too, showing he has heart by pulling 2nd place despite the finger.......

Nobody knows nothing in the paddock; less so the mouth watering journos trying to stir up shite. Until MM or Rossi say JLo isn't a threat it's all BS.

true, but our local visionaries have clearly shown their prowess in these matters... case in point, it would seem the fork stuck in JLo was, in fact, a Lucky Fork, enabling him to capture pole and set a new course record in the process..... of course, the true test will come in the actual race, but his dominance of practice and qualifying shows he is far from done...... Of course, MM is riding injured, but that's all part of the spectacle that is racing...

another wrench in the gears for MM...
Marc Marquez Down to Four Engines for Rest of Season

I doubt it's insurmountable, but it's yet another challenge for the lad.......

Engines are on Honda not MM but I agree it is worrying. JLo, master stroke, yup he is done.

I sense there will a used fork for sale on eBay....

Not the most exciting race, but great riding by the top 4. Bonus points to JLo (for silencing the armchair quarterbacks and getting back into the thick of the championship) and MM for overcoming injuries to ride a great race...... I have to wonder why HRC doesn't give Pedrosa's seat to someone else.... current occupant is clearly out of his league.....

MM's engine situation is clearly not his fault, but he will nonetheless (potentially) be victim of it (HRC can't simply transfer engines over to him from Pedro's bike)......

If Marquez retains his championship, the 20 points he earned today will likely be the difference IMO.

Lorenzo = quiet assassin. Watch him be champ this year after all the Rossi Marquez hoopla early this season.

For top trap speeds, Ducati has seven of the top ten. 217+ mph. They have over 10 mph on the Aprilias which are the slowest manufacturer team.

If Ducati can make the medium can last race distance, good chance for the win. Otherwise I predict Rossi on a Hard compound to win again if Marquez chooses the medium.

I think it will go:
Rossi
Lorenzo
Marquez
Dovizioso
Pedrosa
Iannone
Crutchlow
Pirro

I'm going with this. I think it'll be a toss up between Marquez and Rossi for third.

Marquez was forced into Q1 after a spill in practice. He thought he'd gone fast enough to make it into Q2 but at the last moments of the session a Pramac bike went faster, and Marc left the garage in disgust. He starts from 13th, which will, probably, be worth every penny a ticket costs.

yep, expect he will be in a fighting mood tomorrow...... should/could make for an interesting race (though if Lorenzo breaks away early it will likely be a race for second place)

I doubt Lolly will get away in Italy.

It'll be Jorge, Dovi, and Rossi fighting for the win. Iannone has to show he can keep the pace for the entire race.

I just watched the qualifying. I'm not impressed with Iannone's lap. He drafted Lorenzo across the line to get those last few tenths.

I'm glad he got it for the psychological effect but Jorge was running those laps without a tow.

Gonna be a good race.

Jorge would seem to be the clear favorite for tomorrow's race. Between his riding, his bike, his team and his overall confidence, everything is clicking so well for him right now. Marquez, on the other hand, would appear to be on the other end of the spectrum regarding all the same facets with the possible exception of his self-confidence. He is clearly frustrated with his bike and his team right now and I am very interested in seeing how he faces the challenge of adversity, particularly if the length of time it takes him and his team to get everything fully sorted out drags on for a long while. The Yamahas and Ducatis are running so strongly this year and while it is still early on, how much time do HRC and Marquez have remaining this season to restore their course to a viable championship trajectory? Winning races is one very important thing and consistency is another. With the exception of the COTA round, MM and HRC have been unable to deliver either. With Rossi's resurgence, Jorge finding Jeebus and his forgotten track chops and the factory Ducatis emerging as legitimate contenders, Mark and Honda's current struggles definitely add dimension and layers of drama and excitement to the series that we have not seen for a while. For now at least, MotoGP is no longer a one or two horse race anymore and I can't wait to see how everything unfolds over the course of the season.
