Exclamation Virginia (Hampton Roads) Riders Network

Hey All;
Thought I would start a base for riders in the area on this site. It seems to work pretty well on another like-minded forum. I've met some good people and good riders and I figure another web location will just make the network bigger. Hampton Roads VA could really use some combined activity from those of us with this common interest of SPORTBIKE MOTORCYCLING
Anyway, post up! I'm in Chesapeake. You'll either see me on an 04 RC51 or an 04 blue SV1000s. If I have a ride planned I'll post on here. If you see me out there say "HEY".
Later,
John

I am in Va Beach. Post up when you plan on going for a ride. I am gone quite a bit, but will see when we can go riding.

Hey jaymags;

I'm gone a lot too. It's hard for me to plan too far ahead as schedule juggling happens more than I care for but...

Anyway, there's a growing group (nothing organized) of riders around here. I'll post on here when something is in the works. Actually, this weekend there is a ride being kicked around but I'm gonna be in Cleveland for the holiday weekend. The following weekend (8,9 July) I will most likely be in town and am planning on getting out. I'll post up when I know more.

Haven't been down this far on the 'zilla site in a while. Nice to see some activity on the local boards. I live in Suffolk, but work in Va Beach. I commute just about every day on the bike. I was riding a 01 SS, but just traded for an 03 ST4s. Always up for a weekend ride. I have a 100 mile loop I run that takes you through the peanut and cotton fields of Suffolk, to the coaster in NC and back. It's about 70% decent twisties (OK, decent for the area) with the rest being RT58 and RT32. I just traveled to California today for a work related trip. In fact, I just got in my room and got the net connection working. I won't be home until the first week of September. I'll be more than ready to ride by then. Let me know if you're up for it.

I am back in town after 6 weeks of being with out my bike and will be doing a 100+ mile loop starting and ending in Suffolk. Planning for Sunday Sept 3rd (Ernesto permitting)... PM for the meeting spot if interested. Plan to depart at 10:00am from the spot.

Sane(ish) pace, little traffic, decent roads.

What do you think the roads will be like with all of this rain? If the weather is good I'm down.

Replied to your PM.

Wondering the same thing about the road conditions. I can't think of any place I've seen flood on this route, but not 100% about that. If it still looks bad by Sunday, it will just have to be another day.

Unhappy Please,....Please Don't Screw It Up!...Please!...I Beg You!

Hey boys!.....Cool to see you'all want to hook up and ride! I just ask that you guys PLEASE respect the home owners out here in Suffolk!
Please, there are some really nice/ok, ok roads for here . When I'm out riding, I like to wick it up just as much as the next guy! But right place at the right time, right? Please!.

I've been out riding (MY) roads out here, and I've come accross 2 or 3 guys that HAVE NO RESPECT for the home owners out here! Pisses me off because those ASSHATS-FUCCTARDS go FRIGGIN' Blasting through these roads on which people live kids running around, and these guys were out there acting like it was THEIR own RaceTrack! @$$HATS!....

When You guys wick it up, please don't be doing it around the home owners places....Nothing will screw up these roads faster than this kind of shit! There's room to let them run, but, right time and right place OK?
Thanks!

Peace Jeff

I live and own a home out here too... When I say sane pace, I mean it. As you well know, there are plenty of deserted areas out here where it isn't so bad dialing in a bit of speed. I certainly respect the areas where there are houses and maintain reasonable speeds in those locations. The ride I intend to take Sunday is mostly farm and swap road. Most of the faster sections on this loop are in North Carolina and also pretty deserted. Not to worry!

In my own observations from three years of riding out here, I have had more issues with cars traveling too fast and crossing the center than with bikes. In fact, I can't remember really seeing any bikes riding like ass hats. Then again, I live in a sub division, so I may not see what you see if you live on a better traveled road. This is the first time I’ve openly posted a ride. I have had a number of people out here I know and am already comfortable riding with, but never just an open post. Come along if you like. Right now the weather looks like it should be OK for Sunday.

Exclamation Hey RedDuck!.......I Think I've Seen You!

Hey Guy!

After reading your post again=more closely This time, I see you had the 900SS and that you rode it alot to work in Va. beach. So I just put 1 and 1 together and realized that you might/must be the guy I've seen on rt58 acouple times, going to work in the morning! ...Yes...No?.....

You recall seeing me?....I'm on 1985 VF1000R and or mostly these days, my New 04 RC51! ....I'm trying to think back,... what have I been riding, when I have seen you?....I'm pretty sure, I've seen you while I have been on both of them, at one time or another... .....

Where is the meet up spot?.....Should I PM you my #?..You PM me yours #?..

Peace Jeff

I remember seeing an RC51 a few times on 58. Mostly when I am running a little early (which is not too often these days)... If you're the guy who gets off at the Military Highway exit while I continue on towards 64, then I do remember seeing you.

Went for a ride up to Yorktown this morning. On my way back, I ran through the Lake Prince area. Roads are dry. I only saw one patch where some sand washed on to the road. Should be nice tomorrow. I'm definitely going.

RVTMAVERICK, check your PMs...

Sorry about the gas station! You have my cell number now, so we should be good for the next one!

I'm out this weekend. I am leaving shortly for Richmond. I volunteered to help with a concession stand at the NASCAR race. Tomorrow I'm going to the air show...

Game on for next weekend though!

I wish I saw this earlier. I had to work the air show. We left late, my RC was the last vehicle to leave the flightline parking area.
