Default battery problems

i posted this in general discussion and got no response. here is my prob. 3 wks ago bought brand new out of box 04 Nicky dealer installed yosh ss sytem and scorpio alarm, rode for about 2 1/2 hours the following weekend no problems, got home went to put in back yard would not start, battery dead. loaded up took to dealer they said battey was dead. they charged it up and rode it home next day. following weekend rode for about 2-3 hours got home went to park in backyard would not start, battery dead. went to cycle gear bought batt charger/tender, hooked it up charged overnight started right up in morning. this past weekend rode for about 3 hours brain farted and stalled at stop light about 30 miles from home would not start battery dead. called dealer they came and picked me up. (by the way several people on bikes rode by me with no wave or anything, 3 squids pulled up and offered help so i have some respect for them now). they have now had my bike for a week and have no idea what is causing the battery to die. said it charges fine electrical syatem is fine. let it idle and run a tank of gas through it no problems? i am phucking confused and mildly irritated never had a problem with battery before. any suggestions or should i just carry a portable charger in my pack with me ?

First I would check for a draw,then I would
check the voltage output not only at idle but
at about 3-4k rpm.
If there is no draw,I would suspect a bad regulator or a weak stator output.
PS Disconnect That Alarm System!!!!!!

First, I'd pick another dealer. If they cant handle a charging system isssue, god forbid that they ever get into the engine. Next I'd start by checking for a draw like the others have said. This is simple if you have a multi meter. Key is to not break the connection between the cable and the battery. You have to get one test lead on the post and the other on the cable BEFORE you unhook the cable. If everything looks good there. then you move onto the charging system check when its running. Check in at that point. Oh yeah, set the meter to amps. Do not try to start it with the meter hooked up.

Before that, just make sure your battery cables connections are tight. No lights or anything come on when you go to start right?

The dealer should be able to diagnose the issue. If you keep having a legit dead battery after a ride, its not the alarm. Check into the stator. Really easy to check with a multimeter and the tail off.

I install around 20 of the Scorpio alarms a month and that is not your problem as it has less than a 3 milliamp current draw and it shuts itself down when the current in the battery gets too low.
I also have that alarm on my 04 with the smaller YTZ7 battery and I only start and ride my bike once a week in the canyons.

i also installed my Scorpio alarm with every feature available...never had a battery problem......

but as a way to do some self diagnosing and not paying somebody....uninstall some things and go at it again.
