Default Race body wody work ?

Hello to all,

Can you paint a set of Hotbodies race work like stock condition or better? I know you have to sand them down, but will it still come out good enough for a good paint job? i just want to know how the outcome will be ... Thank you and take care....

absolutely but your going to spend more than u can get a set of oem plastics for. If you do the work yourself you will save some $$ but it will take alot of time.

Clarkandgrilli,

SO its just better to get OEm plastics and get them paimted instead..... My buddies were telling me the same... Just to get the OEM plastics and get them painted becuase it would be easier than the HotBodies one....Thanks for your help and take care...

As a ex painter I can tell you that the cheap methods will not be as good as OEM paint, and a nice paint job would be way to expensive to setup for and do yourself, a custom paintshop could do a better job for a lot less.

I'd just have them paint it all one color, then decorate it with decals, shouldn't cost too much, shop around for prices.

And you can get better then OEM paint jobs in custom shops, but make sure you sand everything straight, any groves and gouges that may seem good enough to you, will look like ass after it is painted, so if your don't know how to prep your parts, just have them do it...

I wouldnt buy OEM if your just going to paint over them. I cant tell if thats what your implying. Are you going to race this bike? if so the OEM wont work.

clarkandgrilli,

My intentions were to get the Hotbodies painted a single color (Black with metal Flakes) and just stick the PIAA light as my headlight so I can ride it on the street... What do you think?? Am I better of with the OEM or am I ok with just sticking to the race fairings and getting them painted....and off course after the prep work had been done and all..? Thank you and take care....

1st suggestion: Skip hotbodies, they are crap. go with cheetah for a moderate budget or sharkskinz if you want the best. in the long run, the better bodywork fits better and takes less prep-work and you will save $$.
