nin73, i installed a pc3usb, and it was pretty frickin simple. dont know how easy or hard the 3r is, but the instructions on the 51.org site for the 3r seemed sorta difficult, but the usb was different and really easy. hope this helps. clary

installation is not the prob as i will not be installing it. The dynojet engineer will be doing this. My question was more based around my tuning and which unit would be of more benefit to me due to the tuning.

I will also be having the bike set up with a custom map.

Get the USB, it's software upgradable and you can use the Quick Shifter with it. You don't need a Wideband, it's used to measure exhaust gases.

Do the 3r and USB use the same maps? Why does the USB cost less than 3r if it's got more utilities?

They are discontinuing the 3R as the USB is easier to use and will have more features, from what I was told.

The USB does not come with more features, it just has more upgrade capability.

The 3R has fuel mapping and ignition advancing features built into it. This unit cannot be upgraded.

The USB only has fuel mapping, but you can add the ignition advancer, quickshifter, and other goodies for an additional cost.

If you have only exhaust and free mods, the USB is more than sufficient by itself. According to DK, he only makes ignition adjustments at 10,000 rpm and above for the RC.
