Question R&G Slider problem

posteddocument.write(''+ myTimeZone('Wed, 28 October 2009 08:39:51 GMT-0800','10-28-09 08:39 AM')+''); 10-28-09 08:39 AM Hi all,

I don't know if any of you have had this problem. I had an off on my SP2 which mangled the right hand R&G crash bung. On closer inspection the actual R&G engine bolt is bent on the right side. Where the alu collar bolts on.

The problem is I can't get the engine bolt out!!

I've got the right hand bung off, the right hand alu collar off, loosened off the pinch bolt, but I can't get the bolt out of the left hand side of the bike.

I'm wondering if the original alu spacer has seized on to the R&G engine bolt??

Any advice would be most welcome. (Other than I should've got Durbhans )

Thanks

Buster

Many bolts get bent in a hard impact crash.....nothing new. You'll need to really torque on it and hope it backs out in one piece. If not, don't fret. Its not to hard to drill down the center of what's left of the bolt until the isdes are really thin. Once the remaining bolt is thin enough you can use a flat head screw driver to start picking/peeling the rest of the metal away, or out of, the threaded hole on the motor.

The bolt will obviously not back out in a straight line so its going to rotated at all different odd angles. It would help to use some silicon/teflon spray or WD40 to get on the threads as best you can to try and help the bolt back out.

The link you provided doesn't show anything but i can only hole you have a hex key/allen head bolt in there. Any other type bolt could be a bit of a PITA.

I didn't post a link ??

Anyhows I think I'm gonna have to cut the bolt out with a dremel.

I spoke to R&G on the phone and their advice hasn't worked.

Cheers Anyway
