That's a neg. on the soaking part... "Lightly dampen" the wrap... other then that.. I'll say +1 with jgos929
Pat, JUST follow the directions on the box and you'll be goldin'
Most important part(s) of the process is...
#1)Let it DRY.. Completely after install\wrappin' is done... and
#2)USE High Temp. Paint on the exhaust wrap, After she's completely DRY.... Most Common I have seen is 1500degs., BUT there IS a 1800deg. paint coating out there... hold out for that.. I bought mine from Summit Racing and had it dropped off at my door.
It WILL Smoke like she's on FIRE when You first start her up,.. So... run it in short periods... I let mine idle for approx. 2 to 3min. and shut down... repeat acouple times going alittle longer run in times with increased RPMs.
The Exhaust Wrap brands: I don't think really matters but there's acouple different types and from what I understand... there's a "Copper" wrap that is supposed to hold even higher exhaust temps.
GL Pat... You can give me a call sometime if you'd like to talk about it or whatever.
And again bro., Great to see you're back!
Peace Jeff
