Default Installed Pazzo's now clutch slipping

Hello Everyone,

I just installed pazzo shorties after my clutch lever broke (bike tipped over...don't ask ) and I thought I installed everything correctly but now the clutch slips when I am getting after it and at high rpm's. What am I missing here? I am sure something is out of adjustment but the levers didn't come with that turn style adjuster that the stock lever had; am I suppose to reuse that part? Does it still fit? Does the clutch need bleed? The rest of the time everything feels normal (shifting, sitting at stop light etc...). Thanks for any help.

Russ

Hey Russ,

Yeah man,.. about your problem here,.. (I think) IF you remove the lever and carfully compare the lever against your OEM lever.. You will see... the Plunger part of the lever NEEDS to be filed\sanded back alittle... in other words... as soon as you install the bolt through the lever, you should have NO\Zero Lever pressure BUT this is what I believe is your problem. You have an ever so small amount pressure already touching\pushing in the MC hydra piston.. via your pazzo shorties...?

Another easier way to check this, also is... you should have a little play at the lever... If not.. Make it so.
This should take care of your problem.

Let us know how it goes.

Peace Jeff

Thanks for the reply guys, do you think I should file back the little gold piece that pushes on the plunger or file the back part of the lever where it hits the stop area on the handle bar?

When I installed the new pazzo lever I did have to push the little piston in a bit before I could get the screw part to tighten down the new lever...this must be engaging the clutch ever so slightly? I will start filing tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes, just want to make sure I'm filing off the right stuff

Not sure why but mine mounted up perfectly a month and a half ago with no issues whatsoever, no slipping, and thankfully no grinding needed. Is this due to poor manufacturing by pazzo? I hate the idea of a company that charges that much money for something sending out poor fitting parts to some of its customers.

I got one for my SP1 that fits perfectly. Not the shorty though. Mine is standard length and it matches the stocker exactly, although in position 1 it doesn't hit the micro switch. 2 and up it does, no problem.
